Midweeks Are Weird

Title really says it all here. Next week, we'll have a few more day-based events to bring us closer to that relationship closure goal. Anyone who tried it, what did you all think of the new combat system? Does it feel good, does it feel bad? How can it be improved?

Also, I am working on a new Twine game, but I'm still writing the endings for it. What scenarios do you like, what scenarios do you dislike? I'll try to factor some of your suggestions into the endings!

im just thinking im goin for a patron for u but i have played the version 0.5 i think and my question is give it any animations in your game or its any time only a blackscreen if it get spanked or so

Hmm, so what I seem to be hearing is that the new one is bad as it is now. The older one is just really bloated. That was the whole reason I wanted to create a new one, (and the whole reason it doesn't show up again after the tower) but if the new one isn't interesting enough, maybe a fusion of the two? Like for example, you choose a particular attitude to take as a a sub or dom and then the button mash happens, if you picked the attitude that counters the opponent, you get a boost, if you take the one that give the opponent an advantage, they get a boost? Also I was planning to have an Authority stat which makes your button taps worth more, while at the same time having enemies be harder to beat if theirs was higher. In some of my testing games, when the opponent was slightly higher than me, It became a stalemate and I would either win or lose depending on how tired my hand got.

in the old system i only found one way that worked: raise your dominance , then hit them with 0 energy dominance attacks while praying to RNGesus that my defense would hold out longer than my opponents. it would work 80% of the time.

I love the new combat system, it give you a quick way to either win or lose. for improvements i would say adding more stats to factor in to the difficulty of the button mashing, say the opponent has a super high dominance and strength over you it will be hard to win. with this system you can quickly win or lose, as well the system feels like it has input from the player rather than the seaming random nature of the previous battle system.

personaly dont think the new one even works that well :/ it says "New system: button mash when the image pops up"- I do so and all that happens is the bar filling up for a split 2 seconds before I win since it shows up right away. overall think your old battle system is just fine ^^

I wasn't a huge fan of the original version of that fight in the tower - the outcome seemed basically random (unless I just never found the proper winning strategy?) But the new one is too easy IMO.

Not to be harshly critical, but I wasn’t a big fan of the new combat system. I liked what you had before (not telling you to change it).
