The Future Of This Project
Added 2018-03-28 18:34:32 +0000 UTCOkay, so here it is, the official poll I've been muttering about for a while.
To explain this a little bit more in-depth, I am going to be graduating from university in a matter of weeks. I have a choice on the table in front of me. Do I dive into the games industry and try to find a job? This will be time consuming and ultimately take me away from this project for some time. Or do I try to make this my full time job and spend my days this summer working on it exclusively?
Here is how either change will effect you and this Patreon:
Monthly Payments
- Pledges will be processed on the 1st of each month instead of when I release updates.
- Updates will happen every other week.
- Only people pledging at or above $5 will get access to these.
- Large-scale cumulative updates like what I am currently doing will remain free.
No Change
- This Patreon will remain the same.
- Weekly updates and work on the project will cease until I have a job.
- Even after I have a job, these updates will possibly come out even less often than they do now, especially if it's full time.
I now leave the question to you, dear patron, which of these options would you prefer? I will take stock of your responses in one week's time, and will act accordingly then. I hope to hear from you!
Comments
Probably not, considering that amount of work might paralyze the project, but I want to see how I work when there's nothing else to distract me. I might be able to make it work. I think I would need to adjust the amount of slots available if I did that though. for now, let's just say that I can do one thing for each person from each tier.

Once I have a few normal games done, I'll use them as my resume to get hired with a game company and work it out from there!

2018-03-29 02:23:41 +0000 UTCI thinking of this summer as a trial run of the idea. If I can't support the scheme at the end of that time, we'll go back to the original setup and I'll call it a post-graduation sabbatical. Also, despite this being my full time job, I still planned on making normal games on the side and a finished one of those is really good for getting hired into the industry.

2018-03-29 02:21:51 +0000 UTCThe problem with making this your full-time job, is that if you're eventually unable to support yourself with patreon anymore, you probably can't really put "worked on a Spanking Game for 3 years" as work experience when you're applying for your next job..

2018-03-29 02:15:46 +0000 UTCNo matter which decision is made, make sure you have a back up plan! The last thing we want to see is ‘guys I won’t be updating for a while because I’m homeless and living on the streets and making a spanking game is a little awkward at a public library’ :)
