Crew Training Facility
Added 2020-04-22 15:39:42 +0000 UTCShore based training is a big part of preparing a crew for service. While a submarine is under-construction for years, the crew is formally assembled. This same crew will stay together for years. Their training begins in the class room and shore based simulators.

2020-04-24 02:08:30 +0000 UTCHa! While in new construction in Newport News, we trained the maneuvering watchstanders on hand-drawn cardboard control panels taped-up over the face of the real panels. We went so far as to make some of the dial needles movable with push-pins! SOOOFISTCATED. "Slow in the fast direction."
