The rear set has twice as many blades as the front set. This pushes the torpedo in a straight line (not spinning out of control) and extremely fast. 65+ knots.

I suggest the dual design of the counter rotating screws has to do with em quiet slow “wired” running verses all out Speed to target. They are set to run at different speeds each, depending on slow quiet running, mid speed, search, and run hard direct to target?
