Its amazing how they assemble all that equipment into such a tight space.

When I was on US subs (mid 80's- to early 90's) most living spaces were pastel green or tan. Most of the engine room was grey. The overheads were mostly white. On the 'Red Stick', the engine room bilges were maroon. I was told the colors were meant to calm us.

Can someone plz explain to me why the Soviets chose that awful offwhite, or whatever color it is, interior paint scheme? Are all old submarines' interiors painted in that color? What does the United States use to paint the interior of its submarines?
