[Hereafter] Chapter CLXXXVII: Faustian Bargain
Added 2025-03-08 22:09:25 +0000 UTCI didn't get quite as far as I planned to in this chapter, and that's solely down to a certain someone actually taking up more screentime than I originally expected. Totally worth it, though, so oh well, we'll just roll with it.
I did say we still had plenty of surprises in store for you guys, right? Trust me, we're nowhere near done. I said that this would probably wind up being one of the longest Singularities in this story, and I meant it. There's a lot to cover, and we're not even 1/3 of the way through now.
Also, I'm sorry to say that I don't have a markdown file for this week's chapter. Not yet, at least, and if I can't get it to work properly, maybe not at all. I'm trying something very special - the CiP guys will know exactly what, since I couldn't do any fancy wizardry in the Docs page - and while I could approximate it in PDF, it only really worked properly in the epub file. For now, you can have it in html, too.
EDIT: Moving down all the way. 4/19/2025

Hmmm, the plot thickens. Things are getting more and complicated and confusing.

2025-03-15 00:15:03 +0000 UTCThis chapter raises MANY questions - besides the obvious one of how Dinah knew Taylor’s name, we also have the question of why would Medb talk to Emma? Given that ANY Shard would act as a Quantum Observer, not something limited to Scion, I suspect that the various Parahuman abilities are piggybacking on Heroic Spirit Khepri. It would also help explain why Coil was so obsessed with her; he would likely experience something similar to the Dream Cycle. It also would explain why Taylor’s first Summon failed - Heroic Spirit Khepri was already Incarnated (since Taylor is the Complete version, and as such bypasses the limitations of Class Containers.) it also helps explain why only those two cities are present - they’re the only ones Khepri was active in at any point.

2025-03-08 23:15:21 +0000 UTCI suppose the truth of the matter will eventually be revealed. Don't get *too* attached to some of your theories, though.

2025-03-08 22:59:20 +0000 UTCI replaced the original file with a new one, then checked using the same addon to make sure it worked. That gaudy cover page annoys me, but I don't want to risk breaking anything else, so I'm leaving it be.

2025-03-08 22:48:30 +0000 UTCHonestly, I already had my suspicions, with how 'Imp' talked about Taylor like it's been years, decades even, but I think your questions confirmed it. To answer your questions, I think she is the original timeline Imp summoned here as a Assassin Class Servant, and very likely has a very strong (likely EX rank) Presence Concealment. Though granted, she is probably better suited for Information Erasure.

2025-03-08 22:47:37 +0000 UTCFYI: Everything works fine for me with the ePub file. Appears to be a local problem and not a general issue with the file.

2025-03-08 22:42:57 +0000 UTCIs she? Hm. And if you're right, I wonder how? Taylor checked Brian's apartment, after all, and there were signs of Aisha, but no Imp costume, and at no point has Taylor forgotten she exists, has she?
