[Hereafter] Chapter CLXXX: Strange Bedfellows

The plot thickens.

I feel like I haven't shut up about the surprises yet, but there's still a lot in store and a lot Taylor and you guys have to learn about what's going on in this Singularity. For every point of familiarity, there's something new and different, and I'm just loving writing this.

This chapter, to that end, is all about building up some more of the mystery, answering a few questions just so that I can hand you a bunch more. There's so much going on and we've just scratched the surface.

EDIT: Moving down all the way. 2/22/25

OK I'd say three things set up here? The assassin servant confirming he fully considers accord to be his master I think lead credence to my idea that their faction had the Grail at one point but lost it. Ritsuka voicing his displeasure with the idea of working with coil I feel will boil over once they find out he's currently using an enslaved child. As a sidebar did Taylor tell the twins anything about her cape career? Because during the meeting where they reveal all the details about earth bet Taylor's internal monologue has her going over that she needs to tell the twins these things about herself so that it's revealed in a controlled setting and so that someone else doesn't take advantage of the fact she didn't tell them and use that information to manipulate them. However this is around the third time the twins have reacted in shock to a piece of information I feel they should obviously know? First it was Taylor sidestepping the question of why her past self should have a bank account, then its Ritsuka being shocked at the revelation that Taylor murders coil, and now Rika doesn't seem to know anything relevant about the undersiders and is questioning their relevance? I'm just saying Taylor and Marie have had months to discuss what they were comfortable and what was needed for people to know. They've already told the entire story to two different people some of the servants already know the entire story, and the twins are the two people that this lack of information could be used to manipulate them. I'm just getting a little concerned that Taylor and Marie just decided to throw this all at twins and the others in the know just let it happen. And finally we have the sort of reveal of both the meeting with coil in the office and the fact that Taylor's old gang apparently doesn't have any current recent sightings. Now given the fact we have the teaser in an office with one of the characters definitely being tattletale I'm gonna make a safe bet and say that they're still here just keeping themselves out of sight. As for why they do that? We already know that coil has taken measures to keep the servants out of the public eye so anyone working with the servants or has a servant likely also kept out of the public eye. And I'm unfortunately willing to bet that past Taylor is still around giving the slim leggy brunette comment. However that could easily be a reference to current Taylor instead. And as an aside I beg desperately I am completely wrong about that brunette comment. Solely for my OCD about Taylor having black hair instead of Brown. And I am like fully reenacting perfect cells "how did all these squares make a circle" I know I shouldn't let it bother me this much, but it does , it bothers me a lot so I hope for my sanity I am completely off base and completely wrong and the comment refers to a completely different character.

Well, Moriarty definitely clocked that Taylor hates Coil's guts, the question is just if he's gonna clue in Coil about it. I'm inclined to assume no, because that lets him lead the situation better

Raphael Mort

Okay, so Assassin is almost certainly Li Shuwen, by my reckoning, unless he's another OC. Other than that, I'm fairly certain the Undersiders got ganked by Lung after Alt!Taylor bit it (And wouldn't it be hilarious if the error in the singularity is that Taylor died), and Coil managed to actually take over the Bay.
