DONT PANIC! Steel Faith Overhaul R.I.P. 2016-2019

My name is Michael (Michał in my language) but you know me more as Venris, head of Steel Faith Overhaul mods. 2 years have passed since I started to work on the mod and 1.5 when I took over the mod after Steel*Faith left. The mod has changed since then. The community has changed and the game has changed. All of you that have been with me since Warhammer 1 know that SFO in that game is only a shadow of SFO in Warhammer 2. When I took the mod I changed many things. Made the mod more compatible with submods, more clear and less chaotic with its systems. Started to work with other talented modders on expanding the SFO idea. In less than a year we became the biggest Warhammer 2 mod with the biggest support from the fans. Thanks to all of you I was able to leave my normal job and start modding full time. It's a thing that I will never forget and will always praise those that helped. All of you are great and my saviours. 

But times change. ‘SFO’ is not only a shortcut of the name ‘Steel Faith Overhaul’ anymore. It’s something much more. It’s a team of dedicated people. A living community and a sign of quality mods. Your feedback and support is creating this mod. It's not a Steel Faith Overhaul anymore, with a talented but troubled creator. That’s why it’s time to bury Steel Faith Overhaul and create something new. 

From this day on the Steel Faith Overhaul ceases to exist. Our team of modders is being changed into SFO MOD TEAM and SFO itself into a semi-brand. There is no expansion of this shortcut, it is no longer an acronym, it's just SFO, catchy and simple and already in people’s heads. As a brand, SFO will be developing mods for Total War games mostly focusing on Warhammer. Because of that the 2 main Warhammer mods are also being renamed.

Total War Warhammer => SFO: Grimhammer

Total War Warhammer 2 => SFO: Grimhammer 2

For the future all SFO mods will have the prefix before the name and unique naming depending on the game. Like SFO: Grimhammer for Warhammer etc. For players it's just a change of direction and naming. But for the future there is much more. SFO will be getting back to my initial idea to make it as compatible as possible with other mods. This also means very user friendly. More of SFO’s ideas and concepts will be decided by the community. Things that people mostly don't like will be removed and those that work will be developed even more. Mod is for you, created by you, that's my idea.

In the coming days the whole rebranding process will begin. It's always a hard time to change everything and update everything. That's why a full mod summary is also coming back, refreshed and renewed. Many of the old outdated SFO submods will be updated and rebalanced to keep you all in 100% compatible mods state.

With all of this I would like to also open SFO Mod Team Youtube channel that will be focusing on modding and community stuff. I will be covering interesting mods picked by the community, posting modding tutorials and SFO itself news. All modders and creators are welcome if they want their work to be covered. It's a small initiative for now but will be growing with your feedback and support.

I hope that all of you understand my decision and reasoning. SFO is become something much bigger than a small mod for a great game. Its development thanks to your support will soon go to the world. But until then… kill some orcs or what you like to smash the most, will you?

P.S. Warhammer 1 Grimhammer will receive major update (more like new mod creation) that will add as much as possible from Warhammer 2! Old Steel Faith Overhaul mod will be intact.
