At 23:15 I agree with u if it is the case that the book is forced on you. As I never experienced it and hopefully never will, I don't know myself too much but I like to think that I am one of those who would be too scared to use it.

I do love this show though, and I like the art style and the framing and the music - but the premise is just especially genius. Just love the idea of two intelligent people will be trying to catch the other, having essentially nothing to go on. The show is from 2006, which is also why the internet seems pretty dated within the show. Not an issue, just something to keep in mind. Doesn't change the fact that Light is spot on by assessing internet culture. With regards to the L fakeout - when I watched this around the time it came out and I had no idea L would be a major character, and couldn't necessarily pin the guy in the opening to be L. I remember having doubts, but it was definitely enough to throw me off. But yeah you definitely cant expect that to have the same impact today :D Nice call on L doing the broadcast nationally, that fact alone completely blew my 15-year old brain back then.
