And I also had the thought about this being on purpose to kind of put us through the same torture Rika and Hanyuu are feeling... but this was tried with Haruhi Endless Eight and everyone hated that lol

2021-09-17 10:52:59 +0000 UTCThe censorship discrepancy is because Funimation got their hands on the pre-censored-for-broadcast-in-Japan version last time around. This time they were given them after the censorship was applied. In Japan Gou was censored just as much.

2021-09-17 10:51:49 +0000 UTCI mean yeah, of course these should be better paced, but the irony is that we are getting double repetition. π The censorship is really odd given the prior episodes were totally uncensored. Mind you, I still remember them censoring Jotaro's cigarette in Stardust Crusaders lmao (that was because Jotaro was 17 and Japanese law regarding the depiction of underage smoking is very strict!)

2021-09-17 04:27:10 +0000 UTCMy speculation on why the format is so heavy on recapping / reusing scenes is budget restrictions. Ryukishi is a smarter writer than this, but in all liklihood the studio didn't have the budget to produce a whole other season of new animation so the plot has to revolve around recycled footage with just bits and pieces of new stuff. That said, I do think we'll be getting a season 3 because there is no way this wraps up in 2 episodes

An anime isn't a Visual Novel, but even casual anime viewers should be expected to figure some things out on their own without being forced to watch the same scenes over and over again.

Just how Hanyuu and Eua giving Rika and Satoko the power to loop subjected them to endless amounts of suffering, we're being subjected to torture by being forced to loop through Gou again. Anyway that's my cope lmao
