2022-03-05 14:22:01 +0000 UTCThat was pretty crazy! Honestly I think the best explanation for how fucked up Satoko got is that she went mad with power. She went crazy with the desire to keep her friend with her. That's not okay! But I think that's what made her accept Eua's offer. And at that point it was too late. It's so sad that in her mind somewhere, her original self is seeing all this. The fact that Witch Satoko calls her the remains of a fragment is pretty fitting cos i guess to a witch, that's how she would seem! (ps I haven't seen Umineko yet. I need to catch up!)

2021-08-27 16:37:46 +0000 UTCThere are parallels between Satoko and Takano as well. When confronted by her witch side, Satoko definitely realises she went wrong, and almost seems to be resigned to her fate at the end, because when her witch self forces her to realises all of these sins are hers too, she has no answer to that. Takano went through something similar at the end of Matsuribayashi, when she asked how could she live with so much sin? I can only hope that Rika will be there to help her through it, as Tomitake was for Takano.

2021-08-27 13:03:18 +0000 UTCIt feels like Human Satoko almost has to return at the end and definitively split from her witch side, and I suspect the gun scene we left off at in Nekodamashi is set up to be the moment human Satoko will return. It absolutely makes sense for her friends to finally bring back her humanity, and it nicely mirrors with Rika's story from the original VN

2021-08-27 02:57:06 +0000 UTCThis is a message for the future you, for when you finish episode 8 of umineko. Come back to this very episode, to the moment satoko fights for control. There's an extra layer here you won't notice until finishing.

2021-08-27 01:11:53 +0000 UTCThis episode was insaaaaane. I'm so glad I was right that Satoko was splitting; I have hope that we can redeem Satoko now! I think she will have a lot to atone for because I really do think she was in almost complete control up until she watched all of Rika's fragments, but it's clear how much Eua was taking advantage of Satoko being in a really dark place. But I have no idea how Rika will end up saving her. I wonder if we'll see Rika's witch-self physically personified just like Satoko's was. There are a lot of obvious parallels between Rika and Satoko but it's really interesting to think about how Eua is partially responsible for making witch-Satoko just as Hanyuu was partially responsible for making witch-Rika. I'm really hoping we get more of Hanyuu soon. Ahh so much exciting stuff. It feels like Sotsu is FINALLY picking up.

2021-08-27 00:57:38 +0000 UTCI like what Ooishi said about the way Keiichi is making Satoko feel by doing all of this. Considering his past and his relationship to his father, he's really the only person who could make that comment.
