Excellent recommendation Sam. Well done, Marian and Joy, as usual. This movie really tugs on the heart. The experiences in life as we grow from childhood to adult are very identifiable and the lessons are relatable and universal. The fear and self-doubt hit close to home. We hope to learn from our mistakes in life so as not to repeat them or pass them on to our children. The movie ending was heartwarming and encouraging reminding us that our future doesn’t have to be dictated by our past.
“A smart person learns from their mistakes. A wise person learns from the mistakes of others.”

Wow, Marian and Joy! It’s Marian’s Birthday and *you* are the ones giving gifts!
And, what a gift. Gosh, I’m just amazed at your insights — Joy sees the story and feelings so well & long before they happen, and Marian gets the main character's psyche almost immediately. And the whole reaction is rich and delicious with keen story and character observations. How do you two do it? You are truly magicians — with every great art, reaction art included, there are people with giving intellect sharing insightful vision with their audiences, but with true magicians you just are left speechless with one question running around in your mind, “How In The World DID THEY DO THAT???”
I wanted to pay a moment of sympathy and gratitude to Audrey Wells, who wrote this film and was one of the very few acknowledged and appreciated woman Hollywood writers, directors, and producers. She died of cancer in 2018 when she was 58 years old. Also the moment belongs to Bruce Willis who has now officially retired from acting, in large part due to contracting a form of dementia to which there is no cure, can decrease life expectancy, and can increase the likelihood of getting dangerous maladies.
This is a movie made in the best tradition -- one made just for the sake of sharing. It was made at a time when Bruce Willis was in his prime of celebrity, and he just decided to make a "feel good" movie with an outstanding cast & crew, notably Audrey Wells. It wasn't made to further fame, make tons of money, or serve any particular Disney agenda. It was made, quite simply, to let us return to being kids, if we're adults, and thank children for being their pure selves just when they, and we, need to be. "It is especially nice seeing you again." It is especially nice to feel a child within us all one more time.
