Breaking Bad 5x9 ''Blood Money'' Full Reaction

Comments

Words to live by, Marian! Well said, well meaning, and well conceived! Wow... at first I learned about MJoy4Fun watching a Star Wars reaction on YouTube. Then I joined the first Patreon site I ever subscribed to to show gratitude for the reactions you both give. Now, four months later, I'm getting joy and optimism renewal from ideas like yours. Now, that's a journey! I think you should produce a journey like this as your *own* show. Instead of Breaking Bad, you are Making Muse!

all combined Sam! Proud is the word to describe Walter in the beginning when help was encountered in his path and he denied bcuz of his pride.. prideful more than proudful.. he is not proud of anything that he realized... he is not content with the family and the status of a teacher.. from a spiritual perspective Walter is the greed, pride and the perfect example of a person who doesn't get satisfied with anything.. Walter is not trying to cook meth and earn money.. he is running away from reality by doing so.. if there were no risk at all.. in fact if what he did was legal, even though he earn millions.. he will get bored.. he is chasing this thrill of the hunt.. by avoiding justice.. cooking illegal drugs just so he can become rich and proudly say '' see? i made it!'' but no matter how deep he goes nothing will satisfy him.. and that is bcuz he is running from reality, from the real world.. from meaningful things in life.. like Honor, Love, Truth, Friendship and God. i see many people who claim to not believe in God but follow his law that is written in the first book ever written, the Bible.. and have peaceful lives bcuz of it.. I've been there myself.. just like Walter i was chasing materialistic meanings in life.. and lost more than i could get.. i renounce that false life.. i became close to God and i can see the true meaning of life now.. it doesn't stay in anything material.. we are temporary.. here right now replying to each other instead of doing something else is not just a random thought.. but a meaningful insight of our very conscience.. and my advice for anyone if they chase a meaningful life is to believe in God.. put family first.. have at least a friend.. plant a tree... feed a cat and a dog.. stay humble and forgiving.. and always feel Love before any other feeling... this is what Walter is missing completely.. that's why his life is shallow and empty

IMHO, Walt's not prideful, but greedy. Greed going unchecked can make a person psychologically ill; make them psychotic. I see psychotic Walt as deluded -- seeing himself as ruler of his world, greedy beyond the point where he's psychologically healthy, and he can't stop himself. I think Walt has some borderline personality disorder issues with a lot of addictive psychotic tendencies coupled with some good old obsessive compulsive disorder. Look at the details this man obsesses over so addictively, so psychotically, so passionately, so... uncontrollably. Walt needs help, but because people see Walt as "proud", they won't get him into therapy where he belongs. People just call Walt "too proud", see it as something Walt just is which can't be changed, and that reinforces his obsession to greedily succumb to baking meth and making money. People just don't get Walt. People can't relate to Walt since he's psychotically greedy; he's psychotic -- living in his own reality where he's supreme. That's not pride, that's psychotic -- a psychological disorder. No one's looking at the psychological disorder Walt's made of himself, so they'll never be able to stop The Heisenberg from taking Walt over. Actually, I think not even Vince Gilligan got this part of Bryan Cranston's acting. I see Bryan is acting a character consumed with greed, not pride. Vince and his writers may have written Walt as proud, got others characters to tell Walt he's proud. and gotten others to relate to him as if he's too proud. But I don't sense Bryan making Walt egocentric. I do not see Bryan playing Walt as proud. I see Bryan playing Walt as consumed by psychotic greed. And finally... which is the part I really like about the Walt character... even if he got psychological help, he has chosen to be who he is. And once a person chooses who they are, they've set up a destiny for themselves to fulfill. Oh this self-made psychotic needs help alright, but it doesn't matter. He's on the path to fulfill his destiny and nothing's gonna stop that. All just opinion here folks... :-) I don't know if any of it means anything! I just got this kind of feeling for Walt -- thanks to Bryan for making me believe what I do for Walt. Walt's a self made, uncontrollably greedy mad man who's turned himself into an evil that can't see the forest for the trees. He can't see that in the end he's become a fool that will involuntarily break bad on everyone and send everything he wants crashing down all over him. He's doomed by his own choice, his own destiny, just to have a little bit more, then a little bit more, then a little bit.. well, you get the picture1 Great acting, Bry!

Very true. And that unpredictability makes him dangerous.

exactly! my latest theory is Walt really liked Jesse and protected him, bcuz of how raw and straight to the point Jesse is.. he was craving to be like that too.. Walter wasn't satisfied with his previous years in his life.. he wanted to escape.. he knew it was a failure.. so when he found Jesse he was impressed on how he is managing to cook and sell cheap meth.. after that he got mesmerized about Gus.. and he started to behave like him after he killed him.. now he became too far gone.. that he is 100% unpredictable..

that is a plan for a while now! can't wait for that!

oh yes.. if Mike is the experienced retired cop who can fix a deadly situation... Walter is the guy who can take pride in cleaning his hat.. while pressing the button to nuke all Europe..

got beyond that! his clock is ticking and i have a feeling it wont tick for too long..

ohhh yesss! Hello Ellie!

maybe that too! it is without question that are own conscious demands a greater good from us... I've seen this Walter White with so many flaws since the beginning of this series... and what makes this show so great, is the fact that Walter no matter what he goes through... he is hungry for control... but willing to die if it's need it.. i mean he was sooo close way too many times.. sometimes even asking for it

ohh nicee! i can see some similarities through some episodes.. some might look and feel like a filler, but they have a story to tell

thank youuuuuu

As for why Walt confronted Hank about the GPS tracker.. Walt's biggest flaw is his ego knowing he's the smartest guy in the room. This means he tends to think he can play chess games with guys who are playing checkers, and make a move like this against Hank where he believes there's a way to "logic" through a bad situation and talk his way out of it. Walt is brilliant, but often underestimates the human side of his opponents, and forgets that they'll act irrationally. He would have thought he could defuse the situation by pointing out that he's not involved in the business anymore and will die before he sees a jury anyway, or that there's no way. He frequently makes his moves as though he's up against someone who operates like he does and it tends to result in him getting surprised when it backfires.

BTW if you're a Mike fan (I am) you need to check out BETTER CALL SAUL after finishing BREAKING BAD. I liked BCS even better and it has some fascinating new characters.

I think Walter also has a weakness of inability to play a waiting game. He can't leave a situation alone even when it's to his advantage to do so. This was a big difference between Walter and Mike, for example. Mike had the patience of a Sphinx.

Els

Its getting too crazy now! Walter is truly a madman.

Tread lightly still causes chills. Hello Carol! Hello Joy!

Ellie Miller

It’s getting spicy in here guys!!! I like to think that hank sometimes represents Walt’s old self coming back to take down this evil side of himself

Subsub537

This is one of the episodes that was directed by Bryan Cranston himself. He also directed the first episode of season 2 and 3.
