2023-01-12 03:01:32 +0000 UTCFull Metal Jacket is a great movie, but it's pretty damn dark. I remember watching it as a teenager and enjoying it, then watching it again in my early 30s and fully appreciating how dark and hopeless it is.

There were over 80,000 people brought together to make the film, the historic portrayal scenes are matchless, and though the ending must be tragic it is meant to celebrate the greatest virtues living within all of us. Like is mentioned in the movie: "Albert Einstein said of Gandhi, 'Generations to come will scarce believe such a one as this in flesh and blood ever walked upon this earth.' " So.... I guess I'm telegraphing my vote here. π I'd give anything to experience beautiful people watch this beautiful film together.

Besides "Lethal Weapon" and "Full Metal Jacket" (both very good films), you already watched these 1987 movies: "The Princess Bride", "Predator", "The Untouchables" and "Robocop". Other movies from 1987 I would recommend are: Planes, Trains and Automobiles The Running Man Dirty Dancing Spaceballs Moonstruck Raising Arizona House of Games
