ohhh nicee! thank you for the soundtrack

yesssss!! oh really??

I'm a music person, and for those of you out there who enjoy music and like the BB soundtrack, here's the extended version of the theme song (which I personally enjoy more than the broadcast version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilfYnhXD-bE A small spoiler: You will get to hear this version of the theme song in a season 5 episode.

Back to breaking bad wooo! I can’t remember if you recognized the first Scarface movie alumni with Hector, but now with Don Eladio, there are two actors who were in Scarface.

ohhhh now brings more spice with this new information! i guess we are in for a wilder ride than i thought! thank you for the heads up!

i was feeling it! Gus even when he kills behaves like some sort of Agent or something... you can tell that the guy is trained! and just some ordinary rich bastard who uses Walter to make money... can't wait to see more of this!

we missed it too! glad to be back ^_^

almost?? hahaha! Happy New Year!!

That's right. And in what became a Breaking Bad narrative style, which also shows up extensively in the series Better Caul Saul (with several visual nods to the H.G. Wells book "The Time Machine" in that series), parts of the whole story are given as flashbacks throughout different key episodes for the audience to weave together hidden storylines after rewatching the episodes. The person Hector is dissing Gus to on the phone is none other than Don Eladio -- this is why Eladio knows who Gus is by the time Hector kills Max. Just call it another pink bear in a pool! 🐻 And remember that bear in the pool thing for an upcoming episode in season 4... you'll see a reference to the bear in the pool in a critical moment with Gus, Mike, Jesse, and others (no real spoilers here... the reference is metaphoric, and will be really clear when you see the reference in a scene).

In the cold open to “One Minute” season 3, where the twins are just kids playing and start fighting over a toy, Hector is dissing Gus on the phone with someone in the cartel, “big man , big generalissimo, big fry cook is more like it.”

Awesome episode. There is a fan theory that Max (the guy who was shot) was Gus's lover not just a friend. Which would help justify Gus's desire for revenge all these years later. Ya no estás en Chile!

Ellie Miller

Good insight you brought out about Gus. Vince Gilligan once stated that when the Gus character was being invented, Vince had speculated a backstory for Gus where Gus could possibly have been a member of the Chilean government under Pinochet. Gus went rogue from the government, maybe destroying as much evidence of his identity as he could, and went out to make an empire for himself. For reasons Vince did not get into, that Gus backstory is not ever directly mentioned in Breaking Bad. But, Marian is right, Don Eladio knows who Gus really is and trying to use Gus for Eladio's cartel. Great character determination! Very keen observations about Gus! Wow you bring such insight to all the media you're reacting to!!!
