Breaking Bad 3x9 ''Kafkaesque'' Full Reaction

I love how Skyler came up with the story and even Walt was all excited to hear it 🤣

Just last week I wrote a comment on another channel about this episode, I will copy and paste it here too: Franz Kafka wrote the story called "The Metamorphosis" about a man called Gregor who wakes up one morning transformed into a giant, monstrous bug, an insect, vermin. It is his monotonous, dreary, wearisome, thankless life he leads providing for his parents and sister that makes him at subconscious level feel trapped, without an inner meaning for himself, without a self-fulfillment of his own volition and dreams. It is society, the system, the culture, life itself that binds him against his will. And his subconscious feelings about himself manifested into reality by turning him into a monster vermin. And the worst is that everyone just accepts it as if it is the most normal thing to transform into an insect even as they are repulsed and shamed by Gregor, but they don't question it and they accept it and hide and imprison Gregor in his room. The underlying theme and some of it sounds a bit like Walter at the beginning, no? The Metamorphosis is psychological, surrealist, absurdist, satirical. But it is also about a man's yearning for normalcy, for love, for appreciation, for praise. In this episode Walter knows what he is getting into with Gus after finalizing his contract. Yes, all the money, but right after it seems and feels like he tries to kill himself driving in the freeway, before coming to his senses. It is perhaps his humanity realizing that it is wrong to go the path he has taken, in all levels and senses of the phrase. But then his stronger self-preservation instincts take him over to stop him. Anyway, that whole sequence with Gus and after is one of my favorites in all the Breaking Bad world, it says so much in such a surrealist way, open to interpretation besides the obvious surface level plot points.

Marion, your feeling of being totally engrossed (is that the word you were looking for) is exactly how I felt. This is the best tv I’ve ever watched. The writing and acting is at times sublime and you’re right just to revel in it and enjoy the ride because believe it or not, it gets even BETTER!!!!! I can’t wait to rewatch it all with you guys!

Best Title Sequence Of All Time! Ar & O Is The Way Breaking Bad Should Go! By the way, Marie mentioned the movie Rain Man when she was hearing about Walt's "Gambling". Rain Man is a great movie. It is the Academy Aware Winner For Best Picture of 1988, and one of the best older & younger brother exploitation and bonding stories ever. How the movie makes both the exploitation and the bonding between brothers work together in the same movie is amazing. Check out its description: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095953/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
