awww man, u know? sometimes is quite scarry to talk about faith, not bcuz of different religions, but bcuz of the people who lacks beliefs... and I don't blame them really, I was like that too! but God had different plans for my life, and every time I doubted him, he responded with close calls that none could have saved me, but something paranormal... last time when I had Covid, It was last year.. my lungs had almost 80% affected by covid.. i was surviving with 20%... and i had long sleeps for 3 days.. many people didn't gave me chances of survival.. but it was the time to trust God and surrender to his will.. his hand touched my heart and in the midst of suffering, i had to courage to forgive so many people who wronged me.. and i ask God ''God if you can forgive me also, that's all i pray for'' the following days my recover took a huge turn.. i started to talk about God a lot.. and a lot of Nurses been touched about my speech.. i prayed for them.. and man! i came stronger than ever! i would never doubt God again! but like u said, in this movie the old priest who had a lot of faith, was weak and old.. but the young one was strong but weak in faith.. sometimes Faith can overdue any other force, bcuz by faith we are saved. the girl was possessed but didn't mention in the movie why and how.. i believe there is more to this movie than just a simple possession.. sometimes the sins of the parents falls on the children.. but who knows.. it might be more to it! btw thank you for supporting us!!

I'm late commenting on this film but it is one of my favorites (if you can believe). I actually find a more positive spiritual meaning in the movie. Aside from the boogey man scares, at its heart it is a contrast between two priests. One priest, a young physically strong and brilliant man but weak in his faith contrasted with an older priest who is physically fragile but very strong in his faith. It is interesting to see how the demons play around with the young priest (Fr. Damien) and get inside his head but are very serious when the old priest (Fr. Merrick) comes on the scene and watch him closely with fear. In the end it is the old priest that sets the stage for the salvation of the child and the young priest eventually believes and becomes stronger. Marian's expressions were priceless and his comments regarding the fact that the demons counted on peoples unbelief in order to be successful were on point. Well done!
