Blue Summer [1/5]

Pairings: Sydney Sweeney x Reader (series), Alexa Demie x Reader (brief)
Summary: In this dull town, during this dull Summer, Alexa is looking for fun while dragging Sydney along with her. Things get bumpy when Sydney gets too attached to someone who won't be around for long. 3rd POV.
Warnings (series): sort of unhealthy infatuation & smut.

It was so, so hot outside that Alexa thought for once that no one would show up to Randy's Roller Rink tonight, but she was surely mistaken. The place was busier than ever and of course her and Sydney were stuck working the very last shift at the food concessions. They won’t be able to leave until closing time which is 1 am on Friday nights. With all these skaters, there was no time to laze around and watch washed up guys try to pick up girls who were too young for them. They had to actually do work and with the middle schoolers rolling around like they owned the place. This shit was brutal.
"Mr. Ruiz incoming..."
Alexa closed the magazine she finally had a chance to open up (only because the nacho cheese machine is down and most of the people here wanted to stuff themselves greasy nachos and the stale pretzels) with a scowl on her face. Sydney watched her intently as she leaned against the counter until Mr. Ruiz finally approached them. He had that familiar smug smile on his face as if he was finally going to get lucky with the dark-haired beauty behind the counter. He was the same age as her father and used too much gel in his hair. Alexa is repulsed by him.
"One small bag of popcorn, sweetheart."
The pet name made her skin crawl but she filled the small paper bag with the hot, buttery popcorn and handed it to him without saying a word. She didn't make eye contact with him but Alexa made sure to bend over just a little bit so he could see down her shirt. And of course he took the bait. He's probably hard in his pants right now. Sydney is trying not to laugh at their interaction. Mr. Ruiz would hit on her too but he had a soft spot for Alexa that made her receive the worst of his affection.
"Here's your change."
Alexa slid the dollars against the counter top but Mr. Ruiz laid down a five dollar bill and pushed the money back towards her.
"Keep the change sweetheart," he winks as if he was charming enough to get her to ask him to meet her out back. She gives him a half smile and turns away from him. She hears the scuffing of shoes against the tile floors and figures that he gave up and is going to go flirt with some other girl 30 years his junior.
"Why do you think he needs that popcorn? To watch you from afar?" Sydney joked as Alexa hopped on the counter opposite of her.
"The popcorn is shit," she holds up the money he gave her before stuffing it in her bra, "but the tips are nice."
"Like my sister always said, the more tits you show the bigger the tip."
The two laughed with each other before they were drowned out by the DJ returning to his booth to play top 40 hits.
The night was beginning to slow down, quickly approaching midnight, but there were still quite a bit of older teens who probably wouldn't leave until the closing time at 1 am. This job was so boring save for some of the fights they would see. It's just a Summer job to tide them over until their next semester of college starts.
Sydney and Alexa tried to pass their time at work by flipping through the gossip magazines. Sydney didn't care about most of the celebrities that were always talked about but it's something harmless to make the time go by. She loves Alexa, they are almost like sisters, but she didn't like Alexa's penchant for stirring up trouble for the sake of entertainment. Tonight, however, there was no chance for anymore interesting interactions tonight since their machines were breaking on them all night, rendering them useless (unless you wanted the salty popcorn).
"Who is that?"
The tone of Alexa's voice caught Sydney's attention. She was probably going to look anyway but she peels her eyes away from her magazine faster than she usually would because of the curiosity in Alexa’s voice. It takes her a second for her eyes to land on the person Alexa is pointing at.
Alexa would never describe herself as a hopeless romantic, but Sydney on the other hand...that is a completely different story. She swoons at the smallest things and falls hard, sometimes against her better judgment. But she swears she hears the romantic Romeo and Juliet orchestral theme playing in her head, the love theme that plays in all the cheesy romance movies she binge watches. She's too stricken to notice that the light shining down is just from the disco ball, nothing special. She is smitten in a matter of seconds because the rose-colored glasses came on and the way the light hit her made her look like an angel. It’s like she’s being given a sign from the universe.
"I haven't seen her around here before. She looks older than a high schooler. Plus if she was a new student you know my nosy ass brother would've said something by now — wait did I tell you about Jimmy-"
Sydney just lets her Alexa ramble on, she doesn’t fully register her words because she's too preoccupied staring at that girl Alexa pointed out. She desperately wants her to come up to the concessions stand. Sydney would have to turn her away because they were about to shut the machines down for the night, but just talking to her would be exhilarating. She probably wouldn't say much though, she would just chicken out, but at least she'd be able to see her face up close. Although she's certain that she doesn't need to see her any better to confirm how gorgeous she is.
"Anyway, there is no way someone that cute is from here. She's probably from the next town over because all the bitches here are busted."
"That's rude."
"What? So you don't think she looks better than most of the people in this town? She looks hot as hell."
"I didn't say that," Sydney turns away to hide the tinge of red that's creeping up her chest and ready to stain her cheeks. Alexa knows her so well and would be able to call her out in a matter of seconds. She has been a witness to Sydney falling in love with someone in a matter of five seconds and she knows exactly how her friend acts. Sydney doesn't know the girl well enough to have a crush on her but she's awestruck, infatuation slowly seeping in.
"Face it. There is not one attractive person our age left in this town. We don't count because we're gone for 9 months out of the year. She's probably not from here. Look at how hot she is," Alexa points as if no one would be able to see them. She wishes Alexa wouldn't make it so obvious that they were gossiping about someone.
"She is cute..." Sydney admits, although she thinks that this girl is more than cute.
"We should be friends with her. We need someone new to hang out with. I'll do my investigations and find out who she is," Alexa jokes.
Sydney knows that her friend is very serious despite the way she talks in jest. Alexa will find out who she is and eventually Sydney will have to be faced with the girl who she is strongly attracted to. It's going to be a dead give-away that she likes the stranger if they ever meet because she becomes a babbling mess when she's enamored with someone. Alexa will probably prod and tease her, something Sydney is used to but still finds deeply annoying when she has a crush on someone.
When their shift finally ends, they leave out the back of the building where Alexa's car is parked. The drive to the front where the older teens were either waiting for their rides home or trying to figure out what they were going to do next. After hours of mindlessly skating around an oval to songs they only like a little bit they should be tired, but of course they weren’t; Alexa and Sydney were the same way when they were the same age.
No matter how close Alexa’s car got to them, the teens would just not move out the way. They were blocking the exit which was making the flow of traffic out even worse.
“Move the fuck out the way!”
Alexa honked on the horn which caused some of the teens to scatter. In the crowd Sydney could spot the usual troublemakers that came to the roller rink almost every weekend. She also spotted that girl Alexa pointed out. Suddenly she feels so embarrassed at this attention Alexa was bringing to them and she wanted to hide her face.
Sydney tries to stop staring at that girl while Alexa is finally able to drive away, knowing that if Alexa sussed her out she would tease her about falling too quick and too hard. She can’t help herself though. She’s a curious being and wants to know so much more about the girl she saw just a little over an hour ago.

When was the last time Sydney saw a girl as pretty as that? Emma from Math 110 was cute but didn't compare to the girl who Alexa pointed at.
She stares at her ceiling like a lovelorn teenager in high school again. It’s been some time since she’s felt that magical feeling and been able to capture it. She can’t put it into words nor will they come out even if she tried, but she feels so strongly about someone she doesn’t even know yet. The last time this happened to her things took a nosedive quite quickly. It’s best to keep this as something for herself; a fantasy even.
And it doesn’t take long for her mind to make up said fantasies. Images of picnics together and trips to the museum in the city that’s only 40 minutes away flash in her head like a supercut. It makes her feel incredibly warm imagining herself on a date with this girl and having the time of her life. She then feels guilty when she starts imagining this stranger being so close to her, on top of her, and kissing her. She presses her thighs together, feeling stupid for acting like a teenage boy who gets turned on by any pretty girl he sees. But it’s been a while since Sydney felt like this about someone and being the romantic person she is, she revels in the feeling before it somehow blows up in her face.
If she doesn’t act on her feelings, at least she can fantasize about things going smoothly in her head. All she sees when she closes her eyes is that face and that smile. She begins to fill in the gaps of what she doesn’t know about that girl which is everything besides her looks. She imagines what her laugh would be like or even what her favorite color is. She wishes that she had her here and didn’t have to guess these things about her or how smooth her skin would feel.
Sydney can’t sleep no matter how much effort she puts into it. She should’ve slept at Alexa’s house because at least she could distract herself from her own thoughts with Alexa’s gossiping. The night is so quiet and dark that it gives her mind so much room to fill with thoughts without fail.
Her walls are a soft purple, a color she picked out when she was a high school Freshman. The color reminder her of the top that girl was wearing. It was a pretty low-cut top that gave Sydney, and anyone else, a peek of her breast. The denim skirt showed off her perfect legs. The color of purple wasn’t the exact same shade but it’s close enough to fill Sydney’s head with more thoughts she just can’t quite escape. Her heart may thump out of it’s chest when she sees her again and god does she hope she sees her again.
There is a damp feeling between her legs at her dirty thoughts. Her hands move curiously against her body as if she wasn’t familiar with herself, as if it was her touching her body. Having that sweet face in her neck, nipping at her sensitive skin would be so divine. Her nipples poke through the thin white tee. Sydney pinches her nipple through her t-shirt imagining that it wasn’t her own hand doing it.
Sydney only dons that t-shirt and panties, and they are soaked. She feels her arousal sticking to her panties and she has to take care of herself or else she won’t be able to sleep tonight. Her hand reaches down between and her legs part themselves. Her fingers press against her covered clit, applying slight pressure that makes her gasp in delight. How she wishes it was the girl from the roller rink instead of herself doing this to her. Would she be teasing or would she just give Sydney what she wants? Sydney can’t stand not knowing.
“Fuck,” she groans to herself. It feels so good to be getting relief after feeling so pent up from work and her disorganized feelings. Even with herself covered it feels good, but she discards her panties and they land somewhere on her bed.
Sydney rubs at herself; she’s raw and wet, almost ready to explode so quickly. She rubs her clit faster, imagining that that is what she would do to her. She would deprive Sydney of the release she is so desperate to have. Sydney’s hand comes up and she continues to tease her nipples just like she did a few minutes.
Not only does she imagine that girl pleasuring her, but Sydney imagines herself doing the same. She wants her to glide across her hot skin, taking her nipple into her mouth and sucking until she was crying out from being overstimulated. Sydney doesn’t think that she would be able to contain herself if she actually got her hands on her. She wants to ravish her beautiful body like she deserves while also being subjected to the same thing.
Sydney feels her clit pulsing under her touch. She’s bound to cum any second now and she sinks her teeth into her body limp to stifle her cries of pleasure. The lust and desire she holds is spilling over and almost makes her feel delirious. Dirty thoughts fill her head and she wishes she could say them to her or at least hear them from her.
Warmth spreads throughout her body as Sydney reaches the height of her orgasm. If she knew her name, she would be whimpering it as she cums under the heavy touch of her hand. Her entire body tenses up for a good minute before she’s able to relax.
It takes her some time to come to her senses again and to stop smiling at the ceiling like an idiot. For a minute there she was transported into a reality that could be true if she was lucky enough to have that girl come to the roller rink again. She feels oddly emboldened because of the orgasm she just had, as if she could walk up to anyone and tell them that she likes them.
But she’s spending this time in bed alone, instead of with someone she feels desperate to at least know. In due time, she tells herself as a way of reassurance. Summer has just begun.
