2025-12-06 08:55:20 +0000 UTCI think the fact that Ilya is russian plays a big part in why he can't admit or let his feelings for shane come out, cause for him that could mean never being able to go back to russia again, or to see his family, that even if they suck, they are still his family, saddly lgbt+ people in russia are practically banned from existing, so I think that's why he decided to go to the america hockey team instead of staying in russia like his father wanted, so he could scape and be more free. So for him one thing is to have sex but another thing is to have feelings because that's when it gets serious and it can be dangerous for him as a russian
