YES! I felt like the show was such a beautiful advocate for showing disabled people that they aren't less than for having the disability they have. That they can live beautiful and fulfilling lives even with their disability. I felt like that message carried so strongly throughout the whole show, only for it to be undid in the end. It made me question what message they were trying to relay with the story in the end. Was it only a happy ending because he got his sight back? Of course, if it was a real person, I would 100% prefer that they get the happy ending that Day got. But in the context of critiquing writing and the way the story was portrayed in the show, it just would have felt more consistent tonally if in the end he only regained the level of eyesight he had in the beginning of the season right after his accident. Where he could only see things that were super up close. He spent the whole season coming to terms with his blindness. Coming to terms with the accident. Forgiving Night. Learning to be more independent and autonomous. He even got through school, became really successful and opened his own business. Sooo much beautiful character progression. All for it to eventually feel less important because he got his sight back in the end anyway. Again, for a real person it would be happy and incredibly joyous. But for a fictional character, the decision to give his sight back and wrap up the story neatly with a bow felt like a disservice to the characters and the writing overall. I just feel sad and worried that someone who was disabled might watch the show and feel like they can't have a true happy ending unless they're able to be free of their disability.

Ever since the Vice Versa Our Skyy eps, I've been BEGGING gmmtv to put JimmySea in a domestic family bl. Something about JimmySea with kids is just the cutest

Can't lie, when I first watched this finale, I was so upset that Day got his eyesight back. Like....in terms of plot for the show, I feel like it made more sense for him to stay blind you know? Especially when they had him finally accepting his blindness and living life normally (opening a bookstore and learning how to use a cane for example). I'm happy for him but....I would've been happier with the plot if he never saw again. I know that sounds mean but he's not a real person so oh well 😂
