The Untamed Episode 28 (Full Reaction)

Had some trouble editing this one for a while because we had some technical difficulties during filming so it was difficult to piece everything together but I'm SO glad I was able to finally get it done!

IT WAS SO PAINFUL TO WATCH JC AND WWX FIGHT T_T   We hated every second honestly. WWX is so right that the innocent people of the Wen clan deserve to be protected. I understand that JC is just afraid that he won't be able to protect WWX if he continue to defend the Wen clan but UGHHH its just so frustrating. All the other clans are so arrogant and horrible to think that innocent people should die and honestly JC should be willing to fight against that kind of injustice. But instead he's willing to let them all DIE just so WWX won't be targeted??

Super sad to see things turn out this way but I guess we knew it was coming all along. But it didn't make it any less painful to watch. THANKFULLY it ended with some really cute WWX and LWJ cuteness in the end because we NEEDED the positive vibes haha. The two of them being Dads to Yuan was so adorable. It's so clear how soft LWJ is for WWX and it's to cute to watch!

I'm so sad for Yanli because she's definitely going to be heartbroken about WWX being banished. She's for sure going to be upset with JC's decision and I'm NOT looking forward to seeing those two sibling be at odds as well T_T

So sad for these characters! This show has us so invested T_T

Please keep in mind that Brian and Philip haven't finished the show, and some of the points you are making can contain spoilers. I would really love to continue the debate on a safer place; are you part of their Discord server? There we could spoiler-tag things, and it's more user-friendly for a discussion.

WWX aside, nothing really justifies being willing to hand over innocents and ppl who’ve saved you to the slaughter so easily as the first solution...yanli wouldn’t stand for it nor would have their father. WWX not being his real brother is lame excuse. They practically are brothers given that they grew up together that way since they were children; either that or JC’s love only extends so far. Given their relationship and history, He at the very least should have been willing to listen to weiying first and find out exactly what happened at the nightless war (like lan zhan and yanli), not automatically blaming and hating (notice how yanlis reaction is complete opposite from Jc, she actually truly loved wwx like a real brother). Instead, he killed wwx himself and spent the next 16 years killing and torturing anyone who even had an inkling to do with weiying. It’s just annoying to see how he expects weiying to follow the twin heroes thing when in fact, his love for wwx is not unconditional like that of true brothers and more like a subordinate. Even to your point of yanlis happiness is proof of this, true familial love wouldn’t exchange one member’s happiness from a marriage at the expense of completely abandoning the other. We do see that JCs dad had a soft spot for weiying, partly because of his friendship with his parents but the other reason is that he did see WWX was the better cultivator in every sense, whether in skills moral or courage. Even JC knows this and has stated multiple times how his dad always said that he doesn’t understand jiang clans core principle whereas wuxian did. JC didn’t exactly prove his father wrong by the way he handled things with this situation did he? In all, I do see the decisions that JC made from his perspective but that doesn’t negate my main point which is that he portrayed extreme cowardness 🤷‍♀️

It's a little more complicated than that. Try to look at it from JC's point of view. First of all, WWX isn't actually his brother (even though the subtitles wrongly translate it as so); he isn't even his adopted brother; he is his "ShiXiong," which is "older martial brother," and it only means they are disciples in the same sect and have the same teachers. The reason why WWX was treated better than other disciples in the Jiang clan is because the original Jiang clan leader (JC and YanLi's dad) was close friends with WWX's parents, and WWX was the best disciple of the Jiang clan, so he had certain benefits. If JC stood by WWX, yes, maybe the other clans wouldn't immediately attack them, but they would probably plan another siege like when they went on the Wen clan. It would also ruin the clan's reputation, and if nothing else, there wouldn't be any chance for YanLi to marry Jin ZiXuan. You can argue that YanLi wants WWX's happiness more than to marry and that Jin ZiXuan is a bad person, but YanLi loves him, wants to marry him, and would definitely give up her happiness for WWX's happiness, but why should she? Also, at this point, JC didn't do anything to actually hurt WWX. As his clan leader, it was his responsibility to put WWX down the moment WWX was stated as a public enemy, so he staged a fight with WWX (they hurt each other only for it to be believable) so JC could say, "I tried; he's not my responsibility anymore; I am clearly not strong enough to kill him, so I banished him from my clan." He did only what WWX wanted him to do—what they talked about when JC visited him in Burial Mounds.

Jc acted cowardly imo. Weiying is literally the most feared and powerful cultivator at the moment which is why all the clans are trying to paint him in a bad light. Jc could have literally publically supported his brother and united together with him and the rest of the wens confidently and strongly, showing off an unbreakable bond and teamwork. Highly doubt the other clans would have dared to challenge the Jiang clan if that were the case. As sect leader AND a brother, that would have been the best move. Not to mention the morality aspect of just handing off innocent elderly & children to be murdered, let alone the very people who saved you and your family in the first place. The original clan leader (Jc dad) would never agree to do what Jc is trying to do and would have stood by weiying 100%. We can see why Jcs dad in a way favored weiying, because he’s not afraid to stand up for what’s right no matter what and is morally just, which was the jiang clans main principle. It’s one thing to not have stood up for your brother, it’s another level of betrayal all together when Jc was literally part of the siege who hunted and attacked weiying together (even knowing that wy is not at all evil and is infact the only person who is doing what’s right in spite of all the consequences to himself). Because of his upbringing to never question the orthodoxy (even when it’s wrong), lanzhan is hesitant currently to stand on weiyings side. But we see 16 yrs later that he regrets this and starts to question the orthodoxy like weiying, standing by weiyings side undoubtedly no matter what others say, and even willing to go a against his uncle to do so.
