Like I talk with Brian on Patreon, there should be a video game. It was announced back in 2019 after the show's big success and was supposed to be released last year, but we only got a teaser so far, and I have no idea if or when it will actually be released.

The moment he uses it and everyone sees it, there's no chance JC doesn't realize, and not just him, but everyone.

2023-01-25 05:50:14 +0000 UTCI honestly love that you shipped Lan XiChen with Meng Yao (at the beginning in the Clou Racesses) and now you're shipping him with Nie MingYue, because those are actually the two most popular ships for him. There is even a popular pairing that involves all three of them as a trouple (my personal favorite pairing, great intense enemies to lovers for Meng Yao and Nie Ming Yue 😄). Like you correctly assumed, they aren’t brothers, not blood related; they are just close, and like is typical for most of Asia from what I know, calling someone by a word that can be translated as "brother" is common for showing respect or closeness. Even in a relationship, such as with "Lan Er-gege" (the second older brother Lan), which is how WWX calls LWJ in the novel when he flirts with him and wants him to completely lose control. You remembered it right, Brian, in the novel, the only gay people are WWX and LWJ (and Mo XuanYu, the guy whose body is WWX in the first two episodes), because MXTX thinks more gay people would be unrealistic, but like I said, in the fandom headcanon, Nie MingYue is definitely not straight and usually is with Lan XiChen.

Since that "porn library scene" at Claud Racesses where WWX called him "Lan Zhan" and told him to call him by his birth name too, he actually never calls him "Wei WuXian", except for that one heartbreaking time a couple episodes ago.🥹 At first, WWX called him like that to disrespect him and piss him off, but the fact that LWJ allows it actually does show how close he considers him. 🥹

Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi are courtesy names, which are given later in life, and if a person has a courtesy name, it's disrespectful to address them by their given name. It's a privilege, it can be used only by seniors, or by people in intimate relationship. Not even YanLi calls WWX by his birth name; she calls him A-Xian, which is more familiar than his full name but still not as familiar as his birth name. Similarly, Lan XiChen calls his brother as WangJi rather than Lan Zhan, because it's more respectful.

About their childhood and their siblings' bond (because we never saw much interaction between them), the difference in their personalities. It would be amazing if you react to that as well after finishing the series.

Actually, he says it in the next line: "Unfortunately, there isn't any Empiror's Smile right now." Empiror's Smile is supposedly the best wine ever, which WWX adores, and that is only made in Gusu. (I'm telling you this because Empiror's Smile is an iconic drink for the series, novel, and everything, so it deserves to be remembered.)
