Update: We don't need to take a filming break yet!

good news: looks like construction at my house won't be for another week or two so we still have time to get filming done as usual for a little while.

bad news: here's the deeper story about what happened and why there needs to be construction in my house.

I lightly mentioned it in my previous post that we had some "really bad water damage" that was caused by the recent storms in California.

What I held back on mentioning (cause it's rly personal and I'm still a bit shaken up about it), is that a part of my ceiling caved in at 3am while I was sleeping.

I was very lucky that a small chunk fell first at the foot of my bed away from me, which is what woke me up. After I had already turned the lights on, I heard the ceiling creaking for a second before a bigger piece fell too, and it fell exactly over the spot where I had been sleeping minutes before. Thankfully my reflexes kicked in and I jumped out of the way in time  without a scratch.

I've been dealing with a leak in the roof for some time now, but we've just been trying to get by while we save up money to fix it because we were afraid the repairs would be super expensive. If you listen closely in some of our recent reactions, you might have noticed the sound of water dropping in the background.

Today a service person came to inspect the damage and he said it may take 1-2 weeks before they're able to send a crew to begin repairs. Things are really, really busy right now because there's a lot of similar things happening to other homes all over California because of the storms. So I still have some time before I have to completely move all my things out of my room. This means that we can continue filming as usual until it's time for construction to start.

Crossing our fingers that the repairs will be covered by our insurance so we're hoping for the best.

I wasn't sure if I was going to fully open up about what happened, but I just felt like ya'll deserved to know that there's a bigger reason why we'll eventually have to put filming on pause for a week or so once repairs begin. Thank you all again for your kindness and patience. It really means a lot! Crossing my fingers that this all gets resolved soon. Working in a room with a hole in the ceiling is not fun, hahah.

Thank you Eleanor ♥️ Filming videos and watching these shows with Philip is always a much needed escape for me as well. Which is why I was stressed out about not being able to film because the enjoyment we get from it is also a big stress reliever. Thank you for your kindness! We appreciate you so much ♥️

Thank you for sharing that with us. It sounds really scary, and I'm pretty sure that, being in your place, I would take a break from filming just to mentally recover after such an experience. You are doing too much for us. Which I am grateful to you for, but please put yourself first. You don't need to apologize so much for needing some time off. Just take care of yourself. ❤️
