Not Me Episode 3 (Full Reaction)

Loving the social commentary in this show and how they’re touching on themes of nepotism and social justice. Really appreciate that this is not just a typical BL full of cutesy, romantic moments.

The tension and stress that White undergoes while undercover as Black, balanced with the stress he’s also facing in his personal life as White is really interesting to follow! The story and writing are solid, and the little bits of flirting we DO get between the leads is cute and never overdone. It’s just enough!

Their chemistry is really great! Excited to see what happens now that they’re forced to be roommates, haha.

BL Besties TV

Hello! I suddenly feel shy as I didn’t expect a shout out in this video. 🙈 Thank you for reading my comments! If it’s ok, I’d be glad to share bits of infos that I can without spoiling anything. ☺️ Btw, I liked that Philip said if a title is given for Ep 3 it’s about ‘privileges’. That’s definitely true and it’s really well seen in this ep. If you noticed the part after the scene with Yok’s and his mother, the city view panned from low to middle class homes towards the high buildings which showed the difference between the poor and the privileges before going to the scene with White’s interview. The details are really just everywhere. Actually when the series aired, twitter fans of NM were analyzing every episode and they sometimes compiled some observations they made, from actors to storylines and issues being covered. This is kinda long but I hope it’s alright to share this as I’m happy that you both find the series very interesting. ^^ This was a compiled ‘title or topics’ fans made for each episode: Ep. 1 - Rule of Law and Rule by Law. All nations can definitely relate to this which not only happens in thailand but also the rest of the world. But though the issues mentioned is fictional, ‘the forest land ownership by Tawi’ was actually based on an actual problem in thailand with villagers being sued for encroaching forest areas according to thai viewers of the series. Ep. 2 - Freedom is the Oxygen of the Soul. This is a famous quote from Moshe Dayan, Former Minister of Israel. UNAR’s art is from an actual political artist named baphoboy. And if you’re curious, UNAR’s name has different meanings for diff. countries (In india, it means ‘to feel the sufferings’ while in italy, it’s an abbreviation which translates to office against racial discrimination...) Ep. 3 - (Dance with the) Privilege. Also drawn by the same artist above, the episode really showed about privileges, the nepotism that happens anywhere and also the difficulties faced by PWDs. For the book Sean’s reading, it’s called ‘the history of thai student movement’ which was aimed on fighting democracy… a very deep and dark stories of what happened to student activists in the 1970s, according to a twitter user from TH who shared a brief info about the book. There’s more to this but I’ll just cut here for now since we’re only at Ep3. It’s really great how watching a series could actually stimulate one’s awareness to what’s happening in the society and what could be done and probably also teaching us too on how to act on problems such as these. Overall, NM is more than just a bl, esp. with a lot of social issues they cover. I definitely look forward you both to try and guess the main topic for Ep. 4. And I’m really enjoying hearing your thoughts at the end of every episode. ^^ p.s. oh and I forgot to mention my pronouns are she/her btw. 😊

Yay! Finally back! (I was in a accident and hospital/bed ridden for weeks) 😭 So did not have time nor the energy to gush with you. But now I'm at home and have all the time in the world to watch BL for example 😅. Not much to do while recovering. I'm really getting into rewatching this series. I had forgotten so many things about it. I really love the social commentary they have on this. Bold as Thailand is still having problems considering justice and equality.
