Animations are rendered in 2560x1440 for 2K and 3840x2160 for 4K. 4K has more visible details like sweat and fine details that high-resolution lovers will appreciate. While the 4K versions can be seen on any monitor/TV, you'll notice a big change on a 4K monitor/TV.
