So I haven't actually watched this movie since I was a pre-teen and the scene from it I remember most vividly never happened in your reaction because (I had to look this up), that scene is from a different Monty Python movie. I remembered really none of this film except the music. (good luck w/ the YT edit if you're still fighting that)

I watched this movie as a kid but didn't learn about how it was financed until a couple years ago, it's wild. The studio pulled funding last minute for (afaik unknown) "script concerns" so George mortgaged his mansion to produce it cause he "wanted to see the movie".

FWIW:
-The character you call Caesar is actually the governor of Judea, Pontius Pilate.
-Jesus makes a couple appearances at the beginning of the film, one as a baby just before the credits, and then as the preacher in the scene after.

Lined up! One of my fav films ever and produced by George Harrison, yes, the George Harrison! Also pretty much know nothing about any religion or its history so I bet I missed some things too.
Apparently it’s a myth and that the extras were meant to laugh.
