Taskmaster S17 Interviews PATREON VERSION

Taskmaster S17 Interviews PATREON VERSION

Comments

I'm a pretty big fan of John's... His podcasts and radio shows have been excellent. He's very competitive on those, and he's admitted that he took taskmaster so seriously that he "almost forgot to be funny" lol... so, interested to see how he comes across to you.

EH

One of Sara Pascoes prize task entrants, s3e1, (Queen clock) was her boyfriend at the time John Robbins clock.

Stuart Wilkie

Because Nick Mohammed's dressed as a vampire they edit out his reflection in all of the tasks.

Metal Frank

I'll be watching for the first time with you for the next two seasons. I started watching this one when it came out but lost interest with it after a couple of episodes. Hopefully it hits better this time.

Love this season, Nick Mohammed is one of the sweetest contestants ever to take part. Sophie is from my hometown so I have a special appreciation for her, her own sitcoms is one of the best British comedy shows in years to me and she brings so much fun energy to taskmaster.

Spoingus

Some of her quotes from the series and the outtakes are outstanding

Queen Naga 🌶️

Also I’m defending these interviews cos s18s ones are seriously insane

Bolton is not in Manchester (a city), it’s part of Greater Manchester but on the Lancashire side and a VERY different accent from typical Mancunian. The vowel sounds are so different. Steve is closer to Sophie but his accent is posher. Hull is a completely different accent from the north west and the rest of Yorkshire itself. Nick Mohammed is from Leeds which is closer but he’s got a posher accent like Steve to Sophie. They are not comparable at all as a Brit unless you’re being really generic and saying anyone who isn’t speaking RP has got the same accent! I don’t know where you’re from but my sister has lived in Bolton, Manchester and Wigan and they are very different accents before even going across to the north east where my family are from. Sorry for the rant but saying that Lucy and Sophie’s accents are similar is really bizarre!

Queen Naga 🌶️

Oh hey Steve's pick for who he wants to see on the show next Reece Shearsmith, is going to be on the next season (20)!

Alicit

Sophie's from Bolton in Manchester. Lucy Beaumont's from Hull in Yorkshire, but they've got a similar accent

Evan

Her off menu episode was perfection after having some mundane guests. I don’t think I appreciated her enough as this series aired but my god her brain is something else

Queen Naga 🌶️

"i don't know what age she began slut shaming me, but it was pretty young" HAHAHAH OMG I love her so much

sicxen

I think it’s a good series as always but the lack of studio interaction was the thing. They interacted with Greg a lot but not each other

Queen Naga 🌶️

Alex asked specific questions for each person eg godmother, subway, so I disagree that it’s bad interviewing technique. Just to add John Robins was in recovery for alcohol addiction during this series, he has a great podcast called how do you cope and Sophie featured on it recently. Her show and life story is truly incredible and heartbreaking. As I think I said before, John is one of Alex’s closest friends and they have a YouTube channel together. Joanne’s accent is fine for me she’s from Dublin, I worked with 300 men from Northern Ireland and that was challenging. Why is nick’s face white ? His character on last one laughing is mr swallow, yet he decided to go full Dracula because he doesn’t like performing as himself just like Mat in s19. He’s also a magician and conductor and that will become clear at points. He went to the same uni as gamble which is one of the best and them did a masters as Cambridge. I think you’ll love Sophie she’s the most baffled and naturally honest contestant. She’s a Bolton lass my sister lives nearby. She’s not far from Steve pemberton, Lee Mack, Johnny vegas etc nut the accents are so specific I might send you a link to get your head around uk accents as a reactor This series followed the madness of 16 and you’re following 19. It’s less unhinged but holds its own as I’ve said with the failures and very specific personalities

Queen Naga 🌶️

It really does show how mad our accents are in the uk as nobody in Australia sounds that different to me but I could go a few miles down the road and face a different accent and culture,

Queen Naga 🌶️

While I wouldn't say this was a great season, I still have fond memories of it. It was the first of the UK seasons that I watched while it was airing.

Remember in S3 when Sara Pascoe brought a Queen clock in as a prize task that belonged to her boyfriend? That boyfriend was John Robins. They're no longer together, but thought you'd appreciate that piece of info.

Joanne McNally is mostly known as a standup, but she also has a podcast. John Robins is a standup and radio presenter who won the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2017 for his show about his breakup with Sara Pascoe. Nick Mohammed is a comedian, writer, magician and actor - he often performs in character as Mr Swallow (as you alluded to in Last One Laughing). Sophie Willan is a comedian and writer from Bolton (not Scotland), most known for her award-winning sitcom 'Alma's Not Normal'. Steve Pemberton is a comedian, writer and actor, most known for being part of the League of Gentlemen team with Jeremy Dyson, Mark Gatiss and Reece Shearsmith, and also writes and stars in 'Inside No.9' with Shearsmith (Shearsmith has also been announced as a contestant for Series 20 of TM, so Pemberton got his wish!)

DS292

Is she Irish, oh dear 😆 🤣

Georgina Devonshire

Joanne's current show that she is touring is called Pinot-phile. I feel like her interview both does and does not represent her well.
