Cyclone Alfred Wednesday Update

Ok everyone, i am writing this at 1.24pm on Wednesday. The BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) are currently tracking the cyclone to made landfall around midnight on Thursday night.

This is looking like a big one, it will affect densely populated residential areas, severe flood warnings are in effect in some areas (check out Brisbane 2011 floods for some idea of how that can go), and the south eastern corner of our state is in somewhat of a panic.

The Cyclone may last until Saturday, but fortunately which each update it appears to move further and further away from my side of town (at one point it was going to touch down about 30kms from where i live).

For those who are concerned for my safety, thankyou.
My home is made of brick, is located on the crest of a hill so no huge flooding concern and the only thing i really have to worry about is some old trees in the back yard possibly falling (I think most likely a couple of branches may fall, and one may damage the veranda, but the house shouldn't be damaged by the trees). With that being said, my house is literally surrounded by giant trees on both ends, so there is a bit of a risk.

I may however lose power, potentially up to a couple of days, so there is that.

So there is all that out the way.

Depending on how absolutely chaotic the weather is and provided my power remains on, I may even do a live stream from my phone or even record a reaction to a movie or tv show during the cyclone. (Twisters anyone? lol)

So i am smashing out a bunch of editing today, just incase shit goes sideways tomorrow.

(and for those wondering, we have set up a little bed in the wardrobe for my cats, Tilly especially hates storms and the wardrobe is her hidey hole, so she's got a long couple of days ahead)
