2023-10-16 16:11:32 +0000 UTCIt's really sad that while they got the guy in the end, another guy who is clearly just like him ended up taking his position and will likely go on to do the same thing... That's what's wrong with this world. For every one rapist that gets caught, another goes free and moves higher in life. All the guys at that Office knew the truth, and were in a group chat where he literally admitted exactly what happened and yet the only reason ONE of them came forward with it was to get himself promoted. Not one single man in that group chat actually cared about the fact that he'd sexually assaulted this woman and was gonna get away with it. Even if there were some in there who didn't actually like that it happened, none of them came forward, none of them actually truly cared about it. It's horrible. And the woman at the end likely came forward about the same guy tbh... I believe that when a guy actually gets caught, more of his victims will come forward with their own stories to hopefully get his sentence longer. It is possible she was coming forward about another guy though. Hopefully Beefer! I'd love to think he ended up arrested too. And all the other guys. But I very much doubt it unfortunately. It was surprising enough that Seth ended up arrested. Taking down a bunch more guys would be unlikely. It'd be GREAT! But highly unlikely unfortunately... :( And Amy's story is heartbreaking. I'm lucky enough to have never really been through anything like that, I've been catcalled once and it was terrifying but that's the furthest anything has gone for me. And I am so thankful for that. But it is something that pretty much every woman has to go through and it's awful. I think it's just so ingrained in us all as a society to just accept it as the norm, and I am so glad that things are starting to get a bit better with that. Of course, it's still pretty impossible to actually get assaulters convicted or charged or anything, but society is starting to truly fight back I think. We're starting to truly realise it's NOT acceptable and that's good.
