If you're interested in doing another filmed stage musical like this one, I'd suggest Come From Away on Apple TV+. It's very different, but I love it! It's about when a bunch of planes got stranded in Canada during 9/11, so it would be perfect to do for the anniversary in a few weeks. I know the premise makes it sound depressing, but it's actually quite funny and heartwarming. One of those "restore your faith in humanity" type stories. 🥰

Ok I've clearly got some homework to do :D But I'm loving all the Hamilton-ness I'm indulging in right now so I will definitely look into these :D

Also joined your Patreon just for this when I saw you had a full-length reaction on here. There's so much I could say, but I'll stick to this:
1. I love that so many lines repeat over and over in this show. Each character sort of has their own personal catchphrase. For example, Hamilton's is "I'm not throwing away my shot" and Burr's is "wait for it". The tragedy of the ending is that it's the one time they both stray from their own catchphrases. Hamilton DOES throw away his shot. And Burr DOESN'T wait.
2. As far as Eliza's gasp at the end, there are different theories about what it means, and I think Lin has said that each actress sort of gets to decide for themselves. But, my favorite theory is that in this original cast, since Hamilton is also the show's creator, when Lin takes her hand at the end and leads her up to the front of the stage, he's doing it as himself. He shows her the audience and it's when she sees them and understands that her/Hamilton's story has been told and lives on that she gasps.
3. Look up a side-by-side video of Helpless and Satisfied on YouTube. They way they perfectly matched the choreography in those two scenes is one of the more impressive things I've seen on a stage.
4. Look up "Hamilton the Bullet" on YouTube.

Hi! I just found your youtube edit of this full reaction, and I came here because I love Hamilton and I need the full reactions to this masterpiece.
Thanks for this, I was happy watching it.
For me, this is more Hamilton than Burr, I love both characters, but Hamilton was a genius. And my true hero is Eliza, I love her.

Came for the reaction and loved it! I could write a very overly long comment with a bunch of trivia about the show, but I’ll keep it brief. One thing you said really hit me and it’s that the show feels as much like Burr’s story as much as it is Hamilton’s, and that he is sort of begrudgingly narrating the entire show. My take on it is that the show itself is almost like Burr’s personal circle of Hell and that basically he’s doomed to have to repeat the story over and over again and rewatch all his failures. And I’m right there with you on the Room Where it Happens, it’s basically Burr’s villain song and it goes so hard
