Reacting to CELINE DION for the FIRST TIME!

The REACTING TO LEGENDS SERIES continues! This time, I dive into Celine Dion's #1 songs. THOUGHTS???

Reacting to CELINE DION for the FIRST TIME!

Comments

Least diverse? Not even close. Love is the coined theme lyrically in her 90’s work, where the 2000’s she really started to dive into different territory lyrically and production wise. She’s done everything from pop, rock, soft rock, chanson & nouvelles chanson(French genres), funk, world beat, EDM, electric pop, country, folk, etc, etc. I think the problem with most Americans listeners is that the only like/accept her ballad stuff, where as Asia, Africa, and Europe prefer her pop/rock, europop songs.

Céline left school at 12 years old. She has been very vocal about the fact she writes songs all the time, but she’s way too insecure to put them out. She does the same with piano. She wrote and produced a French song, for an upcoming artist in Quebec and earned her a songwriting award. Her French material with Jean-Jacques Goldman is autobiographical as he was her bestfriend writing songs specifically about her. Also, Céline has many hits, Her greatest hits CD had 8 different versions due to the different songs being hits in different regions. Her global hits include: The Power Of Love It’s All Coming Back To Me Now I’m Alive Because you loved me My heart will go on Pour que tu m’aimes encore Je said pas A new day has come I drove all night S’il suffisait d’aimer Beauty and The Beast Think Twice To Love You More All By Myself Tell Him The Prayer

Oh I will say, like some have said, Celine’s catalogue is definitely the least diverse compared to Whitney and Mariah but she does have A LOT of albums all in French. From the mid 90s on, she does have a handful of tracks on each album that maybe are more dance or rock or gospel or even R&B, just like you heard in I’m Your Angel. Again, would LOVE to see more full discography reactions to these ladies after your done with Mariah’s (or whenever you wanna start them), simply because i’ve listened to all of their albums several times and love to go on the journeys again with people who have yet to listen to all their music 😊

Trey

No, Celine doesn’t write her own music but yes like Whitney, you’re convinced she did because she interprets and delivers the music so well. As a lamb, i’m ofc concerned you’re gonna enjoy Celine more but like, she’s definitely not someone you could hate haha Dianne Warren did co-write with Mariah but is responsible for literally so many number one songs in the 80s and 90s I’d really love to see you do full discography reactions to Whitney and Celine! Celine has so many more hits, they just didn’t go number one here because she’s French Canadian and was way more commercially successful in Canada and Europe and that says something about her because she’s obviously very very famous here in the US. Lastly, I’m glad you listened to the R Kelly feature because now I can finally hear it without supporting him first hand 🤣

Trey

Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion are known as the Vocal Trinity 👑

Kevin

If you’re looking for discography diversity you’ll find that more in Mariah and Whitney for sure. A lot of Celine’s discography is the same to me. But maybe that’s just me
