Dropping a little dev update before rolling out the July Schedule. Started building out the upper area around the temple, designing new buildings and details. The wall around the temple was surprisingly difficult to keep consistent proportion and convincing perspective for all orientation of blocks. This kind of 3/4 top down projection isn't real perspective, but so long as everything follows the same rules and looks consistent, the illusion of depth is maintained. One thing the town is still lacking is animated elements that make it feel alive. Furthermore, I made some hanging banners that I will make waving in the breeze. Shimmering water, small wildlife like birds, and swaying plants are some other ideas I'd like to try incorporating. Also, still refining the colors of buildings.
I didn't get to work on Beast Planet as much as I was hoping this past month. Of course, I made the choice to work on some other projects, but in terms of game dev, there's been some stuff going on with Hyper Echelon. Long story short, we had a deal for a physical release that was sadly dropped by one company about a month ago. So, we've been hustling recently to strike up a new deal with a better suitor. Can't disclose anything at the moment, but the dream is still alive!
