Concept Album - 12

The concept album project is finally complete, and I can reveal the artist I've been working with. It's TheFatRat! He's a producer of electronic pop music from Germany. I actually wasn't familiar with his music before, but he is quite popular in the gaming community, and I'm pretty sure I had heard some of his tunes at some point. The production quality is all pro, and the vocalists he collaborates with are true talents. His music has a universal appeal, and I hope you will enjoy his new album PARALLAX.

There ended up being 10 tracks total, each with their own animated pixel art, which are referred to as chapters. The first chapter was released last Friday, and the following 9 chapters will be released one at a time every Friday for the next couple months.

These artworks are the first 5 chapters posted in order. The first chapter is called Hiding in the Blue. However, I can't reveal the other titles, as they will also be unveiled each week. The artwork is deepened through the melodies and lyrics of the music, and I highly recommend consuming the artworks when released on Youtube, but you can still enjoy this exclusive early view of the animations.

I crunched out most of these animations in just the past couple weeks. I refined some techniques and learned some new ones in the process. Yeah, that's hand made frame by frame snow. It's not complicated, but very tedious to execute. Maybe I will share my approach in a future mini tutorial.

I had a lot of fun working on this project, and I hope you will be following along on Youtube, as the new chapters are released every week. I will post the 5 remaining artworks in a separate post soon. Didn't want to spoil it all at once.
