Heya! Back with another TD update before I get cracking on the latest Pixelblog.
I’ve been working on some modified versions of the logo for marketing materials that will read better across many formats. This gold version is the current iteration. The logo we use on the title screen is black/dark blue with golden outlines, and has a galaxy in the background. I've shown it several times in past updates. It looks really cool when it's large scale, but has too much going on for scaled down versions. The smaller it gets the blurrier it becomes. Even without the galaxy and using vector graphics it gets pretty rough for the small capsule images used on Steam.
In the second image you can see some examples of the small capsule image. The true size of these images is 231x87px, and Steam scales them even smaller in some instances. Patreon scales the image to fit the column (expand the image into light box mode to get a more accurate scale). The left version is the one based off the stylings of the current title screen. The gold pops and is much more readable. However, it doesn't feel quite as sci-fi as the black and gold. The right image is an alternative concept of a modified shorthand logo that could possibly be used for ultra small formats.
To bring back in more of that sci-fi flare I'm working on incorporating vector diagrams of the Titan. I used an old pixel art image to test the concept and now I'm converting it into vector with greater details. I would use this for medium and large formats, but it will just create noise in the smaller versions.
The last image is the settings menu. Even something as simple as this took about a dozen iterations. UI is hard work!
