The first time I visited Japan I was most impressed by the density of everything. In the space that one average American home occupies you basically have a whole city block full of stores and apartments. But even more impressive than density of structures is the density of people. An obscene flow of human bodies constantly pulses through the city like blood cells in a larger organism. It's exhausting and at the same time invigorating to move within the flow.
Well, it's coming together nicely and starting to capture the Mondo feel. I made a few more buildings based off real Tokyo skyscrapers then arranged everything into a pleasing composition. I've intentionally left some details and polish off the buildings until I decide the final composition, as some areas are cropped or covered. It's a shame to only see a portion of a fully realized asset but the overall composition is most important.
Now I just need to fill it with details to bring it to life. Definitely need some boats in the water, and some kind of aircraft would be cool. Of course, I will also include lots of little people anywhere I can fit them. Ja mata ne!
