Lord of the Glass Desert Ch. 49

First of all, Thank you for all the well wishes. The last couple of days were pretty rough, and then my wife picked up whatever I had going on... yeah, it sucked.

She's feeling better. I'm feeling better. So, back to work. Which is exactly what I did, but then... something odd happened.

For those of you who are new or may not know. The Oni and the Farmer, Searching for the Sky, and Lord of the Glass Desert will eventually be split into smaller books. As for Lord of the Glass Desert, the first split will likely be around Ch 20 when they leave the Boordus Jungle. The second split is this chapter. It wasn't planned, but as I was writing, my head kept coming back to this one point like something was wrong. I finally realized nothing was wrong; it was the end of the book, (whatever that book's future name will be).

This leaves me in an interesting predicament.

Do I have enough story left for another full book?

Funny enough, I think I do. Kal, Ikuno, and Kashka are headed to the Meekari encampment to the north, then back across the Sulerin Desert to face Azrin. Then... whatever happens after that. (Sorry, no spoilers.)

Unfortunately, things ended at only about half the length of a normal chapter, not much longer than the excerpt. I did write some of Ch 50, but with 49 ending that story arc, I need to revamp what I've written so it sounds and feels like a first chapter. Plus, I want to take a little time to plot out the next chapters better. I have the roadmap, but I've been working off a single, more detailed outline since the battle at the facility, and I think that helped quite a bit.

So, my plan is to hammer out another small story in addition to Ch 49. I don't know what that will be just yet (Your input and ideas are always appreciated). Maybe a side story of Kal in his travels between SftS and LotDG, or a return to Arthur and Goldie before the last scene in that story, or Devlin and Marin going back to visit his old home and the goblin encampment, or it might be a continuation of Close Encounters that follows one of Irwin's offspring, or it could be a short from one of the other dozens of ideas I've jotted down.

I'm not sure, I've got a lot of ideas, but nothing concrete yet. Whatever it is I will be working on it alongside Fortunate Meetings (Because I want that one done and out of my head) and probably a new chapter of The Witch's Offering because I've been meaning to get that done for what seems like forever now.
