[ In an alternate timeline where the Hutts retained total control of the galaxy, eliminated the Jedi and the Sith, and ruled absolutely for millennia... ]
Padme and Ahsoka had been friends for many years, rising from poverty in the slums of Old Naboo, and making their way to Nal Hutta, the center of power in the galaxy. Like most abandoned females, they had a goal in mind -- to win the favor of a Hutt Lord, and serve them as part of a lifetime contract. It was risky, of course, seeing as the despotic Hutts could be cruel and flippant with their property, but it was a better and easier life than scavenging in the outer worlds.
This became even more enticing when the Hutts discovered the fad of strandcasting. Owning large harems of Twi'leks and Togrutas became passe -- far more interesting to the perverse Hutts was acquiring a particularly attractive slave and then having them slowly changed into a Hutt themselves.
It was costly and rare, and only the richest Hutts could afford this sport.
Using all their guile and seductive techniques, both Padme and Ahsoka had wormed their way into the good graces of Ziro and Rotta, two obscenely wealthy and decadent Hutt Lords, close relations to the Great God Emperor Jabba himself. They had both been chosen to undergo the strandcasting process and become Huttwives, to their immense pleasure. Not only would joining the Hutts mean a lifetime of riches and power, but it also meant being granted the 1,000 year lifespan that Hutts enjoyed.
Relaxing and keeping their skins moist, Padme and Ahsoka daydreamed about their suddenly-bright futures. Friends they were, but each one knew the other's deepest, darkest secrets...
...Padme had tried to erase all evidence of it, but Ahsoka knew that her friend was a member of the Naberrie family. In decades past, the Naberries had been at the heart of nearly every anti-Hutt terrorist cell on Naboo. If Ziro learned that his new bride was from that cursed clan, she would have been immediately executed.
And Padme knew Ahsoka's tragic secret. Although the Jedi had been wiped from the galaxy, there were still Force-sensitive beings born there and there, and Ahsoka was one of these. She tried to hide her powers as best she could, but her midichlorian count would betray her true nature. If Rotta learned of her Force sensitivity, he would no doubt eat her alive -- as it was a common superstition among Hutts that digesting a Force User would give the eater powers -- an even longer life and the ability to read the minds of other, it was thought.
The two women kept their secrets, but always wondered what they would do if dire circumstances presented themselves. Deception, betrayal, and backstabbing were an accepted part of the Hutt way. If it was life or death, would either one remain faithful to their friend, or give them up to save their own skin?
Hopefully, it won't come to that, they both thought in the backs of their minds. They really were quite fond of one another.
