Drakesgiving Special

OA1093 - In this episode recorded on Thanksgiving Day, two vegetarians carve up the Canadian turkey born Aubrey Drake Graham. Are Drake’s exploratory legal actions against Universal Music in response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” the weakest move in the history of rap beefs? Matt shares some of his favorite diss tracks before we consider these filings and how Drake thought he could possibly come out of this looking good. We also take a look at Jack Smith’s motion to dismiss both of the federal criminal cases against the 47th President-elect of the United States,  and what we can learn about the possible future (?) of these cases from both his motion and DC federal judge Tanya Chutkan’s order granting it. Finally, in today’s footnote Thomas provides valuable evidence for the prospective plaintiffs in a cease and desist demand recently made against the ONLY guitar endorsed by Donald Trump.

Check out the OA Linktree for all the places to go and things to do!

Love that intro. Tim Walz’s clip is awesome. My dad was in the House with Tim. They didn’t often vote together, but he and Tim got along great. When they did agree on legislation, they were sincerely excited about collaborating offices.

Kendrick has continued dunking on Drake on GNX.

Guitar Law! A segment made for me! There are hundreds of guitar manufacturers who make and sell the Les Paul shape. The Trump guitar has a pretty distinct sharpness to the neck cut that the Les Paul does not. If anything that it's a more unique shape than some LP clones I've seen. Do Trump guitars deserve a Cease and Desist even though I love RondoMusic, own an LP knock off, and hope *they* continue existing? I'm not sure. It's definitely a predatory cash grab, but Im not sure if they should be sued for it. Are they somehow more liable because the people shopping for Trump guitars probably don't know how to tell a copy from a real Gibson?

Loll they also added the "photos are for illustrative purposes only," so who even knows. Pretty sure you don't get to completely rip off a patented design just by saying that you are not affiliated with the manufacturer though! Weird strategy there

Definitely look into stuffed sugar pumpkins for an excellent vegetarian thanksgiving entree

The Trump guitars page now says "Notice of Non-Affiliation and Disclaimer GetTrumpGuitars.com is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Gibson Brands Inc., or any of its subsidiaries or its affiliates, nor does it represent itself as a dealer, manufacturer, or distributor of Gibson, Les Paul Standard, Les Paul Custom, or any of their products. " Lol They also say sold out, for the signed and no signed, which cannot be true so I wonder if they're actually listening to the cease and desist.

I need a little breaky from living through major world events.
