I really love the show more with Liz. I’m interested in the content and before I wasn’t interested in the non-lawyer discussion or jokes. The first few episodes with Liz were a little awkward, but now Liz and Andrew have a very nice rhythm. I love the give and take, the clarifications, explanations, the different opinions, the humor. Really excellent show. Please put Liz on the show art already!

2023-04-08 17:31:17 +0000 UTCListener Q: I loathe to even put this in print as I'm scared it'll somehow jinx reality or manifest the scenario somehow. But I wanna ask about a scary-universe version of Fox v Dominion. Say we have a Trump/Desantis 2024 POTUS and Roberts retires granting a 6th ultraconservative SCOTUS seat (and making Clarence Thomas chief?). We know how this court treats precedent, as well as "superprecedent" (whatever that means). Say Fox appeals the ruling and SCOTUS grants cert, how would a right-wing ruling in Fox v Dominion overturn NYT v Sullivan? What would this hypothetical new standard for slander/defamation look like? Y'all keep noting disbelief that Fox has let the lawsuit go this far without settling but let's don the tinfoil hats and grant the Christian nationalist conservative agenda, might there be a certain scary-universe reason for allowing the suit to get this far? Is this a possible method by which all the current right-wing grandstanding about defamation is revised in the law? Love what y'all do and welcome to the show, Liz!
