I chose A. I don't know if robbery has a legal distinction for "attempted".
Now I'm curious, which crimes have a legally defined "attempted" version, other than murder? If you try to bribe someone subtly but they're too thick to understand is that attempted bribery? If you try to lie in court but later find out that your fabrication was true is that attempted perjury?

I'm surprised 'A' wasn't given more consideration given how 'B' still supposes liability for robbery. My gut wants to say attempted crime is not a different crime than a completed crime, but proving attempt hinges more on intent (e.g. TX defines the crime of robbery to include sucking at it, abandoning it, and successful completion all as the same crime). Because the threat of force or violence is used, robbery over larceny.
