What he's doing is definitely performative, but Disney doesn't really benefit from losing the ability to make whatever infrastructure improvements they want whenever they want to without needing to go through public approval processes.

2022-04-25 22:48:17 +0000 UTCAm I tinfoil hat crazy to wonder if the beef between Disney and DeSantos is performative and they're colluding together? It sounds like Disney (especially under CEO Chapek) is very supportive of the GOP but doesn't want to look that way for PR. So it gets DeSantos to attack Disney for it's tepid support of LGBTQ rights and "punishes" Disney by taking in appx $1B of Disney financial obligations. Is that plausible ?
