South Park Season 15 Episode 7! (You're Getting Old)

I can sort of identify with the main points of this particular episode; the gaps in generational preference are no joke, even to the point where I can understand and sympathize with it as an approaching-my-30s lady.

But even so....it seems a lot of the opinions are presented more as black-and-white rather than the huge gray area they actually are. That's somewhat true even with some of the opinions I myself present over the course of the first half of the episode. But even I know that my opinions are just that, my own perspective and not personal fact!

And those ending scenes. Did, did all of that really just happen?

Hollywood seems really hooked on the remakes and reboots lately, since they figure it's IP they can capitalize on. They're not entirely wrong...but they do a shit job at it nonetheless. Younger/newer generation media/entertainment is largely bad I dare say. But there are some gems. From the likes of Bluey to Arcane, the industry can surprise you every now and then.

Even as a 90s kid, I was a brand new soul who struggled to like anything older than me, or even tolerate it. But I eventually learned to appreciate things beyond that limited scope. Except for new stuff...it feels like the same old thing over and over again. I was just at Target a few days ago and heard annoying pop renditions of Christmas songs. Aside from the fact that I hate Christmas music this early, I couldn't help feel like all these poppy renditions are just lame and awful.

One last thought: Why the HELL does Randy think the only way to enjoy life is to like/play Zoomer music?!? Really pisses me off when grown adults think that desperately trying to act "young and hip" is the only way to stay happy, especially when almost all the entertainment of the Gen Z/A era is fucking HORRIBLE. Movies, music, you name it. Seriously, when is the last time Hollyweird made a high-grossing film that WASN'T some godawful superhero movie with gratuitous special effects? Sigh.

At the risk of sounding like an old guy yelling at clouds, I will say that 98% of mainstream music today really does sound like total shit. Garbage. In the 70s, 80s and 90s, great rock n roll, alternative rock and metal were a PART of mainstream music, in addition to all the pop and rap. But today, the mainstream is all shitty pop, hip-hop, K-pop, dubstep etc. The golden years of music are over. There are still talented bands making good rock and metal, but they are pretty obscure. You really have to dig for them now.
