Being defeated in battle is not the end for Typyl.
The Typyl first enters a state called a "Downstate" where their bodies turn completely white, where they can revive.
There's several options for Typyl to revive, including waiting it out.
Ways of revival include:
Revival will take a toll on the body, so there is a penalty. Revive too much in a certain amount of time and you will actually be dead, so rest is still a thing. Most of the penalty is reviving by will, and the least penalty is waiting it out, which is next to none at all.
When damaged, you would start to emit white dust, but if you don't have a chance to revive (unless you rest), you would actually bleed.
If you're in a situation where you can't be easily revived such as being impaled, the only way to revive is through reviving by will. So allies would still need to make sure you're not in a bad situation where you can't revive.

The characters featured here actually askpatientpachirisu characters transitioned to Furria! Counter-clockwise: Pachi the Pachirisu (now Hy Cat-squirrel), Shin the Shinx (now a Lion-type), Emiin the Emolga (now Flysq-type aka Flying Squirrel), and Lant the Lampent. (now a Tadpole-type)
Yeah, I might actually start to not use the number notation for later ones. I know it's #33, but I actually have to count every time cause I name my files by date.
