Today a dear friend passed away.
His name was Paupë Chaimer. ( @PaupChai on Twitter )
This is his chimera character, which I drew before back in the SEPT 2017 PWYW.
He was a dear friend. A kemono artist. An avid gamer. A major contributor to Furria, and an inspiration for me both in art and skill.
He introduced me to the concepts in FFXIV, and even went through and take the time and tell me the history of one of its dungeons in great detail. (It's the Sunken Temple of Qarn) He even went with me as one of the party members who complete my run of FFXIV: A Realm Reborn with me.
He's also a 🥞 Syrup Aid patron, commissioned me a stunning 39 times and supporting me throughout this whole time, with that I thank him a lot for...
We talk through concepts together for Furria and challenged me on stuff I wouldn't normally think. With that he even said to a point it could be a science fiction story than just simply a fantasy cause of my careful consideration of concepts.
He even let me use a few of his characters for the series, the biggest being Ays, the Spatium Sav, who was a character for his Riflecat game concept, which I want to refine for Furria. Sadly, the concepts he told me for Riflecat was in bits and pieces, and I have to live with that.
Thanks to him, I want to make sure that everything is considered when I work on details when necessary and how deep everything can be outside of the surface alone.
Outside all of that, he was a dear friend. Very friendly and fun to talk to. It's actually pretty fun just talking to him about random stuff too. He's someone I would definitely trust and hang out with for a long time. Sadly, I didn't talk to him too often because of my perseverance with my own stuff.
A lot of people I know or follow had a big impact with him as well, especially around the kemono community and his own Discord server. He might not show a lot of his work, but he did touch a lot of people with his kind and friendly attitude and his wisdom.
He died today at age 30, with an untreated asthma attack confirmed by his mother. He will be missed, especially his family, his friends, and everyone close to him.
While I can't sob forever about him I would like to take the next following days to honour him as a friend.
The best way for me is to just work on his contributions to Furria and show them to you guys. I think he would like that very well instead of being left in the dust.
I'll be weaving this along with my work so I just don't end up sobbing all day. Darn, I wanna celebrate what he has given me as a friend and a contributor and not be sad. I'm sorry patrons, your art will have to take longer.
Thank you for listening to all of this.
