GOAT IN THE NEXT EPISODE WE'RE SO BACK

Squiddy

Yeah this is more or less right, adding onto it though the episode tries to make a point about how Kunikida *could* possibly end up on the same path as the Azure King, not that he will or he is quite yet. Azure King saw criminals getting away with heinous crimes and decided to act on his ideals as a vigilante, killing them but also harming innocent people in the process. His death ended up leaving Sasaki behind in the name of him chasing an ideal perfect world where everyone receives justice. It broke her to the point of her just wanting to die but also fulfill his wishes. And Dazai was in the Port Mafia, so that also plays a huge part in why he's saying what he's saying here. Not gonna elaborate on that though. But the episode as a whole plays on challenging Kunikida's character and concept of ideals, you noticed the Azure King had blonde hair, he also had the same eye color and VA too, and the real life Kunikida married Nobuko Sasaki. AK is literally just him if he followed the path of terrorism and extremism.

Squiddy

Okay so basically Dazai tells Kunikida he clings to his ideals out of fear, trying to stay in control. He compares him to the Azure King, who also had strong ideals but lost his way when the world didn’t live up to them. Dazai says both he and the Azure King “killed Sasaki-san in the name of righteousness,” but I don't think Dazai like literally means he killed her but was trying to make a deeprr point meaning they believed they both were doing the right thing, but their righteousness ended up causing pain. His warning to Kunikida is that it's good to have ideals, but don’t let your sense of righteousness blind you or lead you down a destructive path. To add to like why dazai is saying "he killer her" in a way is because Kunikida was following his ideals and trying to stop the Azure King by the book. But despite doing everything "right," he couldn’t save Sasaki. So Dazai’s basically saying: even when you act with the best intentions, like following justice or righteousness, people can still get hurt. Honestly a great episode that really showed who Kunikida is as a character
