If you're willing to do a bit of finicking around with mask 2, you could probably make that look vaguely crocodile-ish. Either way though, it looks hilariously much and thus I vote for that as-is.

the first mask is probably better but I also like how much the second one is EDIT given the essential "very brief joke", I agree with brice pullan who said if it's dark and real go with the first one, but if it's silly and srs do the second. I vastly prefer the second one personally so I hope you go with that

Also I wouldn't worry about imminent death too much cause in my first year of uni in chemistry I straight up HUFFED a vial of bromine accidentally (ow, and also probs for the best I'm now an archaeology major) but now I'm totally fine. If the cult thing is a running joke and not just a one-off thing, maybe both? If there's a progression, like you're getting deeper into the cult as the video goes on, the mask could change to reflect that. Or maybe the cult has like senior cultists who get to wear the bigger masks, if there are multiple characters. OR, as the video goes on and you gradually open up to the pure and undeniable truth of the flat earth... so does your mask. Idk, maybe this is just silly.

I personally think the first on looked a bit better in its simplicity, but when I was looking at a blurry, smaller image of the second one, it momentarily looked like the kind of helmet you'd see in a Dark Souls game and Bloodborne? Both of which would probably include a cult that worshipped a giant crocodile demon boss. So based on what little information I've been given, I would make the second one look more helmet-like then use that. (If you have that kind of time.)

If the joke is so brief it's not clear what the joke is (like, if it's a very short cutaway), mask 1. If it's long enough that it makes sense (ie, more than a second or two), mask 2. For Philosophy Tube, prolly mask 1, unless it's supposed to be VERY silly, in which case definitely mask 2
