DECIDE MY VOTE FOR ME PLEASE

You have around 25 hours from this moment to decide for me which I should vote for.

Coming up next is a video about violence in film, and a bunch of bonus stuff I was meaning to get to before realising I had to finish this video before the referendum.

DECIDE MY VOTE FOR ME PLEASE

Comments

Oh man. 2023 time traveler here: vote leave DID NOT go well!

damn i missed out i wish i got to vote (i dont live in Britain) it would have been awesome. This just in!!! foreigners tamper with referendum by deciding how one man should vote perfect headline

GhostSnake

you are scaring me hbomb.

I guess it looks like you attract remain people? Only a few leave votes on here.

Phizzy

Was previously a strong proponent for leave, but after viewing the Sadiq Khan vs Boris Johnson debate, as well as the segment on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver as well as this video and the response you gave on Ask.fm about the matter, I've switched to Remain. I think at the end of the day, the EU are undoubtedly a bunch of massive pricks, but by the same token, they won't stop being a bunch of massive pricks just because we hypothetically leave them. Staying can allow us continued influence over them, and after the scare of a potential exit, I think the EU would feel inclined to offer us considerably better deals to alleviate the prospect of a repeat referendum in the UK. Because if the EU were to treat the UK like crap after a "Remain" result, it could trigger other countries holding similar referendums and having less faith in remaining if this were how the EU was treating a country voting to remain in its organisation. Plus, as much of a complete hash as Cameron has made of being the voice for the Remain campaign, I think it's important not to judge the strength of each campaign on the personalities and instead on the actual facts about what remaining or leave would entail. Though if one were to judge on the personalities, as much though I prefer Johnson over Cameron, I'll certainly take Sadiq Khan, Ruth Davidson, and Jo Cox over Nigel Farage, Michael Gove, and anything Britain First or The Sun says.

Surely, all that cake is only being exported to France so that the retired British folk in the french countryside can further pretend they're not actually in France but an alternate reality where British weather is nice. Keep British cake sales strong, vote Remain!

Vote remain, make that smug twat Farage cry!

As an American, I think either choice is ultimately futile and the only earthly certainty is oblivion.

Nick V.

can you write in Obama?

everyone wants remain so i vote leave

I'd say vote leave (following the party line :P) but I can certianly unterstand the remain side: If I were merly a casual observer I would have been completly turned to Remain given the fear-mongering and outright xenophobia of the right-wing Leavers. Renationalising Rail etc will not be possible in the EU as it stands and currently regardless of who you vote for in your parlimentary elections the EU overrules the local govt (see the unelected technocrat placed into rulling in italy, the depervations inflicted on Greece, TTIPP etc etc) Ultimatly, a tory govt in the UK is still going to be shit but they can be voted out, this is the UK's only chance (for the near future) to vote iteself out of the EU which alternates between reformist 'socialst' parties (who have given up socialism in all but name) and the center-right rulling the EU parliment. Anyway, I can certainly understand the case for either and although I back an exit, seeing Remain voted for can at least be seen as (if at least a superficial) rejection of the worst of the exit campaingers. Genuinly concerned what the consequences in NI will be if exit is voted for (I live in ROI). TL:DR Leave, but not because of shits like Farage

As funny as it would be for America and Britain to try and out-do each other in xenophobia, you should definitely vote Remain.

Leave! Fuck the system! Damn the man! Salt the earth!

"I'm proud to say we export cake..." I'm just here to say that this video was everything I hoped for. (Oh, and "Remain". The UK needs more dragons.)

Ruben Rydell-Sandgren

I say Remain. I'm not a British citizen myself, but I have many reasons why I find an organisation like the EU worth upholding and staying in. Easier trade deals, uniform regulations, combined political power, easier travel, and so on. As someone who has benefited greatly from globalisation, I find the Leave arguments quite silly. They stem from a xenophobic, superiority-complex kind of outlook. That aside, what I've learned about the Tories in the short bursts of interest I've had in UK politics is that they tend to be bumbling idiots a lot of the time. Also, as someone else pointed out, UK citizens get cheaper education in the EU. My university is at least 25% Brits because it ain't so expensive in The Netherlands (and it's one of the unis which don't require Dutch). At this point, splitting off is just gonna make politics that much less efficient with the EU.

boy_carmelina

Vote remain just to fuck with Tories.

MrXeno

Definitely Remain. I have not heard any argument, or even any sort of plan for what a Britain invoking Article 50 looks like, just criticising the byproduct of the bureaucracy of the EU, claims of being anti democratic in a country where first past the post means the majority of people do not get a representative vote. If someone offered me even a potentially plausible scenario of how Britain would look outside of the European Union, and indeed how out "out" is given that presumably we'd still need to be part of the European Free Trade Area and would still be connected to the European Court of Human Rights. Given how many laws and treaties (including Good Friday) are connected to the EU just unpicking that will take up nearly a decade in the courts. I would love to be convinced but I simply am not.

David Rose

oh, and vote bremain in the brexit broll

Samael

The unscrupulousness of our political parties isn't much of a reason not to vote remain I think - I mean, if we leave the EU, we're stuck with them and they're more free to do as they wilt with us. Like they don't even think felons deserve the right to vote and feel grumpy that the EU wants them to, whilst funelling vast quantities of money into tax shelters and living with subsidized second houses. I think my favourite reason for "Vote Leave" is Assange wants the UK out of the EU because he... basically wants Cameron to have a really bad day. And that's it. Thanks guy. Though if we drop out, that might mean Scotland gets a second chance at independence.

Samael

I'd go remain. Sadly neither option will get rid of the Tories but voting leave seems to hand more power to the worse Tories and the worse-than-Tories. Also, far too many of the leave arguments rely on weird pie-in-the-sky warm patriotic feelings for me to ever trust them.

PS i think you forgot to put my name in the last 2 videos, no big deal just thought i'd point that out

forpush

I say vote remain, but while intellectually, i know it to be the right thing to do, part of me secretly hopes that britain votes out, the xenophobes win and britain burns because that would be hilarious to watch from the outside

forpush

Given that whatever criticisms people have for the EU we at least understand them whereas next to anything could happen if we leave, i would say Remain; the choice least likely to make our country into some sort of economic lament configuration.

Ash Rose

I say you should vote remain, because even though there are intelligent reasons to leave, most of the people who support the campaign are just assholes.

Have to say, as someone from the United States it's strange to see a problem like this (American media doesn't cover any other countries politics because it's shit). I would say though, based on what you said during the video and what others have said in the comments, you should vote remain.

The UK remaining in the EU sounds more logical to this uneducated American. Most of the "109" pillow regulations only have the word "pillow" in them and aren't actually about pillows, as if someone just searched for the word and didn't read any of the regulations.

I am not sufficiently informed or even insufficiently informed, so I chose to submit to the universe and flip a coin. It rolled off the desk and into a floor vent. By the time I dug it out I had forgotten if tails was for leave or remain but I'm kind of sure tails was for remain (?)

Write in Ed Balls. If that's not an option, vote remain.

Jean

Please vote remain :3 The EU allows for students to go to university for free, avoiding our ridiculous tuition fees here, and it also allows for us to move to any other country in the EU easily, a privilege which we have really come to take for granted.
