Update #3

Hey,

Wanted to give another update as we're now a few days into February. Progress on the Kingdom Hearts 3 script is proceeding smoothly, and I've hit a comfortable groove now. I've written around 8,500 words as of now.

I'm not entirely sure how many words it will end up being, but I've gotten through the majority of what I want to say. I still have to edit the script down, rearrange everything, add and subtract paragraphs where needed. However, I feel like we're on track to have the video release somewhere in the second half of February! I really hope it doesn't disappoint. 

As for future months, I think I've decided on a plan, but I'd like to ask for your input once again. I'm pretty confident now that I'll be doing a return visit to all of the 3D Zelda games in the lead-up to Tears of the Kingdom. Not only does it feel appropriate, I'm also in the mood to talk about Zelda again! 

This is roughly what the months ahead will look like (reserve my right to change it as always):

February - A Passionate Defense of Kingdom Hearts 3

March - Revisiting 3D Zelda

April - Breath of the Wild | 6 Years Later

One more question still plagues me, though. As time marches on, my relationship with covering new game releases (especially ones I care a lot about) is a bit rocky. Obviously, I skipped making a Xenoblade 3 video since I wanted to wait for the DLC to release; however, another reason I waited is because I wanted time to digest the ride it took me on before gathering my thoughts on it. 

With Tears of the Kingdom on the horizon, I'm honestly not sure if I'm going to be able to contain myself. It's such a big release, with so much to talk about, and I'd really love to have somewhat of a repeat of what I did in 2017! 

At the same time, part of me regrets making my Breath of the Wild video as early as I did. I feel like I could have given those thoughts more time to simmer. Some of those early judgment calls are the reason I feel so strongly about revisiting Breath of the Wild in particular, to maybe set the record straight about my thoughts.

Then again, maybe one could contribute some of that to my relative lack of experience at the time. I've been perfectly capable of expressing my thoughts on new game releases like Sonic Frontiers and Metroid Dread in full video formats, so there's no reason I should feel like I can't do that with Tears of the Kingdom.

Which is why I'd like to ask you, the people funding this operation, what you'd rather see me do. Would you like to see a Tears of the Kingdom video closer to its release? Or would you like me to wait on that for a while? 

As always with Patreon polls, I'm not committing to the results 100%. I reserve the right to make whatever choice I'm most comfortable with. Nevertheless, your input is appreciated and may sway my ultimate decision.
