Guardia Millennial Fair

Hello! I’ve just posted the video for Guardia Millennial Fair, and I’ve finished the audio for Peaceful Days (preview link at the bottom of the page). Here’s some info on what I’ll be working on in the next couple of weeks.

Spiral Mountain

Thanks to your support, I was able to purchase a mandolin! This means that I’ll be able to re-record Spiral Mountain, which is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time. The arrangement that I’ll be recording is pretty similar to my old one, but I’ll be taking advantage of the fact that my instrument collection is much larger than it was seven years ago, so I’m gonna be changing up the middle sections a bit.

I also had enough money to purchase some sambago bells, which I used in my Peaceful Days arrangement, and I still had enough left over to put away for the eventual album release and to save for taxes! Hooray for taxes.

Mining Melancholy

I also met my goal for Mining Melancholy! I arranged Mining Melancholy a long time ago and decided on which pots, pans, and metal tanks to use as percussion instruments, but I got stuck when I decided that I wanted to use a large metal drum for a bass sound. I was having trouble finding a reasonably priced metal barrel, and I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on something that I was only going to use once, so I decided to scrap the project. But now that I’ve got some money to devote exclusively to buying equipment for my videos, I’ll be able to get this project off the ground.

I still don’t want to spend your money on something so silly, so I’ve been looking around a lot, and I found some metal drums on Craigslist for $30, which seems reasonable. And ultimately I think the imagery of a big metal barrel is important to the video, so I guess 30 bucks isn’t so bad. I’m still looking around for cheaper options though.

Next Goal

Now that the pop album has been scrapped, I’ve decided that I’m going to be setting some strategic Patreon goals to help me break up the monotony of all of the Chrono Trigger stuff. Viewers have expressed interest in a Dragon Roost Island cover, so that will most likely be my next goal. I just need to wait until I finish Spiral Mountain and Mining Melancholy to figure out what amount of money to set it at so that I can make sure that I meet it within a reasonable time frame.
