This project is something out of the ordinary. Now you're warned. π π
It all began when the lovely chad and fellow Patron, Casper Lyhne, contacted me back in the day because he wanted to do some photos. We did and the results back then can still be enjoyed right here! βΊοΈ
Now fast forward a couple of years until 2024, where we once again talked about doing a little something-something. This time around tho, I didn't want to do something that just slightly had similarities with our previous shoot - not because I don't like it or because there's something wrong with it, but because I wanted to challenge both of us to think out of the box and in new ways. π
So I came up with this dogma of: What if we did a whole photoshoot in which I was only allowed to shoot through things. (In other words: There had to be something diffusing the shot, while being between the camera and Casper π±)
Furthermore I found it interesting to fool around with different colors, so we ended up agreeing on doing the photos at his place in complete darkness. By doing so I had 100% control of the light and could fuck things up in various ways - which was a huge part of the idea. π πππ»
If you haven't already, go check out this 'Behind The Scenes'-video from the day to get a glimpse of how and what went down. π₯³

(Here's a photo of how the camera looked when we shot this series. As you can see I attached some fishnet stockings to it, letting it hang quite lose to vary the shots as much as possible.
I tried different stockings but eventually went with this size in "masks". NOTE: I did tho use like 2-3 different ones to create the whole series)
The first thing we did was for Casper to oil himself up, to make the colored light shine much as possible. βΊοΈ I've done many shoots with this light before and my experience tells me that it's a very good idea to get the skin moisted up a bit, to make the subject shine brighter/reflect the light. πππ»

(Casper doing his thing.. ππ§΄)
As I mentioned, the goal for this series was to differ as much as possible from our first shoot. I wanted to do something which I didn't exactly knew where was gonna end. π¨
I brought along my Nanlite Pavotubes II 15x 2 light kit as the only light source, because that was the most flexible way of fooling around with different setups which we aimed for.
below, you can see two examples of how I simply just placed one of the tubes next to Casper, while the second was placed a bit further away on the other side of him, creating this surreal dimension in time and space. π A photo without these colors, here on this location and with the same oiled-and-masked-up setup would just be straight up boring to look at - so the light here really lifts the atmosphere to new heights, if you ask me. π

(Two examples showing how simple I actually kept the lighting setup while shooting - and combined with things in front of the camera + different probs for Casper, made it all look super cool. )
For photo #02 (the blue one with him screaming) I did make use of a mirror, which you can see on the picture below.
I held the camera in my right arm and kept holding the mirror up next to the lens, to create a surreal mirror-effect. So technically I combined three things: Colored light, white fishnet stockings around the lens + a mirror, to create that image. πππ»

(Here you can see me holding the mirror, while holding the camera in the right hand, behind it because I was shooting Casper (who's to the left of this image))
I guess that was it for now. π
It's projects like these that makes it possible for me to do all the other stuff on a daily basis, because I get the creative freedom to both fuck shit up and do stuff which I really don't know how will work out in the end. πͺπ»π₯³
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE STYLE? ππ€·π»ββοΈ
- Let me know if you wants to see more with her in the future, got some ideas on what could be awesome to do or just have some technical questions or thinks you would like to know. ππ»
